A topping of spicy barbeque sauce, diced chicken, cilantro, peppers, and onion all covered with cheese, and baked to bubbly goodness! This is similar to a recipe I had at a popular pizza place in California. My family LOVES it!

1 (12 inch) pre-baked pizza crust
1 cup spicy barbeque sauce
2 skinless boneless chicken breast halves, cooked and cubed
½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
1 cup chopped red onion
2 cups shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Place pizza crust on a medium baking sheet. Spread the crust with barbeque sauce. Top with chicken, cilantro, pepperoncini peppers, onion, and cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

3 packages (8 ounces each) Italian bread shells or 6 pita breads (6 inches in diameter)
3/4 cup barbecue sauce
1 1/2 cups cut-up cooked chicken
3/4 cup shredded smoked or regular Cheddar cheese (3 ounces)
6 tablespoons chopped red onion

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 450°. Place bread shells on ungreased large cookie sheet.
  • Spread barbecue sauce on bread shells to within 1/4 inch of edges. Top with chicken and cheese. Sprinkle with onion. Bake 7 to 12 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Use a combination of your favorite spaghetti sauce BBQ sauce for a delicious pizza. Amounts and ingredients are completely flexible. I usually use a little more sauce and a little more cheese. And I usually keep some roasted garlic and carmelized onions in the freezer, so this is very quick.

1 pillsbury pizza crust (in the cardboard tube)
2 ounces spaghetti sauce
2 ounces barbecue sauce
8 ounces cooked chicken, shredded
4 ounces cheese, shredded (I used a Italian 5 cheese blend)
8 garlic cloves, roasted
1 red onion, carmelized

Steps:

  • Follow directions on pizza crust package for pre-baking.
  • Combine spaghetti sauce and barbecue sauce, then spoon it onto the pre-baked crust.
  • Top the crust with half of the cheese, all of the chicken, garlic, and onion.
  • Top with remaining the cheese.
  • Bake pizza according to directions on pizza crust package.

1 Boboli pizza crust
1 large cooked chicken breast, shredded
1/2 medium red onion, finely chopped
2 medium roma tomatoes, sliced thin
1 cup approximate barbecue sauce (your own preference)
2 cups mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon garlic salt (approximate to taste)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450, or use pizza crust package instructions.
  • Toss cooked, shedded chicken in BBQ sauce to coat.
  • Set aside.
  • Place thin layer of BBQ sauce over pizza crust.
  • Sprinkle garlic salt over top of BBQ sauce.
  • Spread tomatoes out evenly over top of pizza.
  • Sprinkle onions over top of tomatoes.
  • Spread chicken out evenly.
  • Top with cheese.
  • Bake 10-15 minutes, or until cheese completely melted.
  • Serve hot.

This BBQ chicken pizza is quick and easy. I used Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce (my fav) and Pillsbury® ready-made pizza crust. My friends loved it!

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 (4 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms, or to taste
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (10 ounce) can chicken chunks, drained
1 (18 ounce) bottle barbeque sauce (such as Montgomery Inn)
1 (10 ounce) container refrigerated pizza crust
1 (8 ounce) package shredded 4-cheese blend

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook and stir onion, red bell pepper, and mushrooms until tender, 5 to 10 minutes. Add diced tomatoes; cook and stir until heated through, 2 to 3 minutes. Combine vegetable mixture and chicken in a large bowl; add barbeque sauce and mix well.
  • Spread pizza crust onto the prepared baking sheet. Spoon barbeque sauce mixture over crust and top with cheese blend.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is bubbling and melted, 13 to 18 minutes.
