I found this recipe in TOH Quick Cooking. This is so easy and a great way to eat cabbage. This is a great comfort food.

3/4 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
4 cups cabbage, diced
1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon paprika
2 cups milk
4 cups hot mashed potatoes

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, cook beef and onion until cooked and onion is tender. Drain.
  • Add cabbage; cook and stir for 2 minute
  • Sprinkle with flour, salt and paprika; mix well.
  • Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil; boil and stir for 2 minute
  • Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10-12 minute or until the cabbage is tender.
  • Serve over prepared hot mashed potatoes.

1 pound ground beef
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1/2 cup milk
1 can (4 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1-1/2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules
3 cups hot cooked mashed potatoes

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the soup, milk, mushrooms and bouillon. Reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 10-15 minutes or until heated through, stirring occassionally. Serve over mashed potatoes.

1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with juice
1 onion, halved and thinly sliced
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
