7 tablespoons milk

2 cups icing sugar, sifted
3 tablespoons instant nonfat milk powder
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
6 tablespoons shortening
To Use
1 package chocolate frosting mix
3/4 teaspoon water

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, combine icing sugar, milk powder and cocoa powder. With a pastry blender, cut in he shortening. spoon about 1/3 cup of mixture into ziplock bags and seal tightly. Label with date and contents. Store in a cool dry place. Use within 12 weeks. To Use: In a small bowl, combine frosting mix and water. Stir with a spoon until smooth. With 4 low ratings I went on line to see if I could see what is wrong. I found another recipe that makes 11 small bags of mix. So I'll post that and hope it comes out better. Another recipe for Easy Bake Ovens. This is the original recipe I had posted...6 tablespoons flour, 4 teaspoons sugar, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon cocoa, 3/4 teaspoon shortening, 1 pinch salt, 6 teaspoons milk...Mix all ingredients well. Bake in Easy Bake Oven for 12 to 14 minutes.

1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup vegetable shortening
4 teaspoons water

  • Stir with a wire whisk until blended.

2 cups water
2/3 cup canola oil
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon baking cocoa, sifted
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
FROSTING:
3-3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup baking cocoa
1 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 to 5 tablespoons 2% milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Line bottoms of 2 greased 9-in. round baking pans with parchment; grease parchment., In a large bowl, beat sugar, water, oil, vinegar and vanilla until well blended. In another large bowl, whisk flour, sifted cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to sugar mixture, beating until smooth., Transfer batter to prepared pans. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 30-35 minutes. Cool in pans 10 minutes before removing to wire racks; remove parchment. Cool completely., For frosting, sift confectioners' sugar and cocoa together. In a large bowl, beat butter and vanilla until blended. Beat in confectioners' sugar mixture alternately with enough milk to reach desired consistency. Spread frosting between layers and over top and sides of cake.

A cheap alternative to the expensive mixes! My daughter loves to bake with her little oven and these ingredients I almost always have on hand.

2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon milk
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons Quik chocolate milk mix (or other brand)
1 1/2 teaspoons shortening
1 pinch baking soda
1 dash salt
3 teaspoons icing sugar
1 teaspoon Quik chocolate milk mix
1/2 teaspoon milk

Steps:

  • Grease Easy Bake pan.
  • In a bowl, mix all ingredients, except glaze, until smooth.
  • Spread mixture in pan.
  • Bake 12 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Mix glaze ingredients together until smooth.
  • Spread on cooled brownies.
  • Let stand 2 minutes.
  • Cut into mini wedges and serve.
