6 Granny smith green apples (Peeled, cored, and sliced.)
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup sweetener
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
1 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup brown sweetener
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons melted butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease an 8x8 baking dish. I use cooking spray.
  • Place a saucepan on medium-high heat. Add the apples, cinnamon, vanilla, sweetener, and lemon juice. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes until the apples are soft.
  • Mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Add to the pan and stir. Cook for 30 seconds.
  • Transfer the apple mixture to the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Combine the oats, brown sweetener, cinnamon and melted butter in a separate bowl.
  • Spread the topping throughout the pan.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Loosely cover the pan with foil to prevent the topping from over-browning.
  • Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until the apples are soft.
  • Cool before serving.

Who loves dessert in a jar? This deliciously simple apple crisp recipe is sweetened with honey and the apples are sweetened with fresh ginger.

4 apples (around 4½ cups)
1 tablespoon fresh ginger (minced)
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ tablespoon balsamic vinegar
⅓ cup honey
4 half-pint canning jars or ramekins
¾ cup old fashioned oats
¼ cup slivered almonds
⅓ cup whole wheat flour
⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ cup honey
2 tablespoons butter, melted or very soft

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Peel, core, and slice 4 apples into small pieces. Peel and mince or grate the ginger. In a large saute pan, mix together the apples, ginger, cinnamon and kosher salt. Stir in the balsamic vinegar and honey. Saute until softened, about 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, stir together the oats, almonds, whole wheat flour, kosher salt, honey, and butter.
  • Divide the fruit mixture into 4 half-pint canning jars or ramekins. Spread the crumble over each jar, pressing down on the crumbs to ensure that none are above the mouth of the jar.
  • Place the jars on a baking sheet and bake 15 minutes until top is brown. Cool for 10 minutes and enjoy.

1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup water
1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
Ice cream or whipped cream, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Spray bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan with cooking spray.
  • Spread apples in pan. In small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle mixture over apples. Pour water over apples.
