DREAM WHIP PIE

I forgot how quick and easy and inexpensive this pie was! My sister made this a while back, and I'm so glad she did! This is such a great summer pie...light and fluffy and can be made with any flavor pudding to please everybody! I also use a little bit of Cool Whip on top to make extra yummy! This recipe is from the back of the Dream Whip box.

2 (1 1/3 ounce) envelopes dream whip brand whipped dessert topping mix
2 3/4 cups cold milk, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 (3 1/2 ounce) packages jell-o brand instant pudding mix, any flavor
1 baked graham cracker pie crust

Steps:

  • Beat whipped topping mixes, 1 cup of the milk and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on high 6 minutes or until topping thickens and forms peaks.
  • Add remaining 1-3/4 cups milk and pudding mixes; beat on low speed until mixed.
  • Beat on high speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
  • Spoon into pie shell.
  • Refrigerate at least 4 hours.
  • Garnish as desired.
  • Store leftover pie in refrigerator.

2 cups macadamia nuts crushed, reserving 2 tablespoons for garnish
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
3 tablespoons sugar
3 cups cream
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 12-ounce bag white chocolate chips
1 8-ounce block of cream cheese, softened
1 16-ounce tub of Cool Whip, softened

Steps:

  • Combine all crust ingredients and mash into the bottom of a greased 9x11 cake pan. Bake for 10 minutes in a 300 degree F oven. Set crust aside to cool while you prepare the filling.
  • Combine cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and cornstarch into a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil over a medium flame. As the filling begins to thicken, add the butter, vanilla, and white chocolate chips. When the filling has thickened turn off the heat and whisk in the cream cheese. Pour the filling on top of the crust.
  • Allow to cool in the refrigerator for at least thirty minutes. Then take the Cool Whip and spread over the top of the filling. Garnish with the remaining macadamia nuts and chill until ready to serve.

Steps:

  • Whip pudding mix, milk and vanilla for 2 minute.
  • Fold in cool whip.
  • Place one layer of graham cracker squares in 10" pie plate. (they don't need to be perfect just cover most of the plate with squares and pieces).
  • Top with 1/3 cool whip/pudding mixture top with sliced banana.
  • Add another layer of graham cracker squares and top with 1/3 cool whip/pudding mixture and top with remainding banana.

1 large container Cool Whip, 16 oz
12 oz Trader Joe's lemon curd (or brand of your choice)

Steps:

  • 1. Mix first 3 ingredients together and press in a 9" pie plate. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool crust on a wire rack.
  • 2. Blend together well the powdered sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla. Spread on completely cooled crust.
  • 3. Sprinkle chopped walnuts over cream cheese mixture.
  • 4. Spread the whipped topping over the walnuts. You will not need to use the whole container of topping.
  • 5. Place pie in freezer for 30 to 45 minutes until whipped topping is firm enough to spread the lemon curd on top of it.
  • 6. Decorate the edges and center with the Cool Whip. Add a few chopped walnuts if you desire. Then refrigerate.
  • 7. Note: This pie freezes well, that is if you have any left over to freeze!

  • In a small bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Add oil and buttermilk; toss with a fork. Gradually add water, tossing with a fork, until a ball forms. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour., On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to fit a 9-in. pie plate. Transfer pastry to a pie plate coated with cooking spray. Trim pastry to 1/2 in. beyond edge of plate; flute edges. With a fork, prick bottom and sides of pastry.   • Place Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until broken into small crumbs.
  • Add the butter and pulse to combine.

  • Pour into the Oreo pie crust then place back into the refrigerator while you prepare the ganache.
  • In a small saucepan, bring the whipping cream just to boiling over medium-high heat.
  • Remove from heat and add chocolate morsels, but do not stir.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes then stir until smooth.
  • Pour over pie and refrigerate at least 2 hours until set.
