My sister in law made this for me a few years ago, and it is now my favorite pancake and waffle topping.

1 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2/3 cup water
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Mix sugar, salt, flour, and cinnamon in a small saucepan.
  • Add water and bring to a boil.
  • Boil until thickened.
  • Stir in butter.
  • Serve over pancakes, waffles, or french toast.

1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/3 cup skim milk

Steps:

  • Mix everything together except milk.
  • Bring to a full boil, then cook for 3 minutes more.
  • Remove from burner and let cool for 5 minutes.
  • Whisk in milk slowly.
  • Serve warm.

1/3 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 medium apples, peeled and sliced

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, bring brown sugar, water, butter, cornstarch and cinnamon to a boil; boil until thick (about 2 minutes).
  • Stir in apples; cook until tender (about 10-12 minutes).
  • Serve wherever syrup, or a sweet topping is wanted.

1 cup corn syrup
1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • Combine the first 4 ingredients in a large saucepan.
  • Stir on medium high heat until it boils. Add the lemon juice, vanilla and maple flavoring. Stir. Fill hot sterilized bottles to within 1/4 inch of top.
  • Seal.
  • Makes 3-1/2 pints.

1 cup packed dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon double strength vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Combine the water and the sugar in a heavy saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Keep stirring until the sugar dissolves. Keep boiling until syrup is reduced to about 1 cup.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in the cinnamon, cream, and vanilla.
  • Keep warm until served, can be refrigerated for up to about 2 weeks. Rewarm before serving.

We love these pancakes.They are different from regular pancakes.Delicious !

1/2 c all purpose flour
1/2 c cornmeal
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 c buttermilk
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 c diced ham or other lunch meat
3 Tbsp butter, melted
1 c diced fresh pineapple
3/4 c maple syrup
1 Tbsp butter
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Combine eggs, buttermilk, butter and vanilla.Stir into dry ingredients until well blended.Fold in ham.
  • 2. Pour batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto a greased hot griddle. Turn when bubbles form on top; cook until second side is golden brown.
  • 3. For syrup, in a small saucepan ,saute pineapple in a butter for 5 minutes or until pineapple is brown.Stir in cinnamon and maple syrup.Serve on top of the pancakes.
