"I've been making this appealing appetizer pizza for years, and it's still goes over big at family get-togethers and potlucks," says Ann Stanton of Treasure Island, Florida. "I often make three or four at once and keep them in the freezer to serve unexpected company."

3/4 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons curry powder
1 prebaked 12-inch pizza crust
2 cans (6 ounces each) lump crabmeat, drained
3/4 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and curry. Spread over crust. Sprinkle with crab and cheeses. Place on a pizza pan or baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted.

1/2 large sweet potato or yam peeled and cut into thin strips
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
1 - 2 tbsp curry powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 c whipping cream
2 tbsp dry white wine
8 oz crabmeat divided
1 - 14" pizza shell or 1 pck pizza dough
8 oz shredded mozzarella
1 tub mini bocconcini's thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Place sweet potato strips on baking sheet;drizzle with oil and toss to coat. Bake 10 - 15 min or until tender. Meanwhile in a small saucepan, melt butter over med heat. Add flour; whisk until smooth and golden. whisk in curry powder and salt. Whisk in cream; cook and stir until thickened. Whisk in wine; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; stir in one third of the crabmeat; remove from heat. Place pizza shell on a large baking sheet. Spread crab mixture on pizza shell, leaving a 1 inch border. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella. Top with remaining crabmeat and sweet potato. Arrange mini boccocini on top. Bake 20 - 25 min or until crust is crisp and golden brown and cheese melts. Let stand 1 min before serving.
