Steps:
- Prepare a 1-quart glass jar with a lid.
- In a small bowl combine brown sugar with white sugar and cinnamon; pour into the glass jar then pack down.
- Layer the oats then the toffee bits.
- Mix together flour with baking soda and salt then place the flour mixture on top.
- Close the jar.
- ATTACH A CARD WITH THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS; set oven to 350 degrees F/ place all ingredients from the jar into a large bowl breaking up any lumps/ add in 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine, 1 large slightly beaten egg and 2 teaspoons vanilla; beat until blended/ drop onto greased cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes/ yield 36 cookies.

- Layer first 3 ingredients in one quart wide mouth jar, packing each layer firmly.
- Layer one cup biscuit mix, brown sugar, salt, vanilla powder and remaining biscuit mix on top.
- Fill any remaining space with chocolate chips, secure lid and attach following instructions --
- INSTRUCTIONS:.
- combine mix, 1/2 cup melted butter and one large egg in a medium bowl.mix well.
- Shape dough into 1" balls.

- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl; whisk until well combined.
- Place butter and brown sugar in a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add egg whites and vanilla extract, and beat for 1 more minute. Gradually add flour mixture to the bowl and mix until completely combined. Fold in pecans and toffee bits until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Move the bowl to the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
- Scoop dough into heaping tablespoon-sized balls with a spoon or cookie scoop. Place dough balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet and flatten just slightly with the palm of your hand.

- Use clean 1 quart (4 cups) glass jar with lid. Stir together brown sugar and cinnamon; pack down into bottom of jar. Layer with oats, then toffee bits. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; place as top layer. Close jar; attach card with following instructions:.
- BAKING INSTRUCTIONS - Heat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheet.
- Spoon contents of jar into large bowl; break up any lumps with wooden spoon. Add 1/2 cup (1 stick) softened butter, 1 lightly beaten egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract; beat on low speed of mixer until well blended. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons about 2-inches apart onto prepared sheet.

- Creating the Gift in a Jar:
- Wash and thoroughly dry a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar.
- Layer the ingredients in the jar as listed above starting with the flour, salt, baking soda, chocolate chips, brown sugar and then toffee bits - make sure to press firmly with a flat bottomed object after each addition; make the layers as level as possible.
- Secure the lid and decorate as desired; attach the instructions for making these cookies found below.

- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
- Add flour and baking powder to creamed mixture, stir until well incorporated.
- Add in toffee bits and nuts, and stir well.
- Drop dough onto greased baking sheet at least 2 inches apart, tablespoon amounts.

- Instructions for layering ingredients: In 1-quart wide-mouth glass jar, gently layer and pack ingredients in the order listed. If there is any space left after adding the last ingredient, add more baking chips, dried fruits or nuts to fill the jar
- Place lid on top. Cut an 8-inch circle of fabric to cover lid. Place fabric over lid; secure in place with a rubber band, then ribbon or raffia. Decorate as desired.
- Note: When measuring brown sugar, crumble it between your fingers for uniform texture. Be sure to pack the brown sugar firmly in the jar to prevent the baking mix from sifting down through it.
