¼ cup unsalted butter
1 (3 ounce) package uncooked ramen noodles, crushed
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup white sugar
½ cup red wine vinegar
3 teaspoons soy sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 heads romaine lettuce, chopped
1 bunch broccoli, coarsely chopped
4 green onions, chopped

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir ramen noodles and walnuts until toasted, about 5 minutes. Transfer mixture to a plate lined with paper towels and set aside until cooled.
  • Whisk together vegetable oil, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  • Combine ramen noodle and walnut mixture with lettuce, broccoli, and green onions in a large serving bowl. Pour in the dressing and toss to coat.

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 teaspoons soy sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1 package (3 ounces) ramen noodles, broken
2 tablespoons butter
1-1/2 cups chopped broccoli
1 small bunch romaine, torn
4 green onions, chopped
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the sugar, oil, vinegar, soy sauce, salt and pepper; shake well. Discard seasoning packet from noodles or save for another use. In a skillet, saute noodles in butter until golden. In a large bowl, combine noodles, broccoli, romaine and onions. Just before serving, toss with dressing and walnuts.

1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 (3 ounce) package ramen noodles, uncooked,broken up (Discard flavor packet)
4 tablespoons butter
1 bunch broccoli, coarsely chopped
1 head romaine lettuce, washed,torn into pieces
4 green onions, chopped
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup wine vinegar
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Make the Sweet and Sour dressing and set aside (blend together the last 6 ingredients).
  • Brown walnuts and noodles in butter; cool on paper towels.
  • Combine noodles and walnuts with broccoli, romaine and onions.
  • Pour sweet and sour dressing over salad and toss to coat well.

1 cup chopped pecans, cashews, or walnuts (your choice)
1 head of broccoli, chopped
1 head of romaine lettuce, torn in pieces
4-6 green onions, chopped
Dressing:
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup wine vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • Add butter to saute pan and melt. Saute noodles, flavor packet and nuts in butter until browned. Combine noodles with broccoli, lettuce and green onions in salad bowl. Blend all dressing ingredients in blender until sugar dissolves. Pour over salad before serving. May not need all of the dressing - can save and refrigerate.

3 tsp soy sauce
SALAD:
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 package ramen noodles uncooked and crushed into 1" pieces(discard flavor packet.
4 Tblsp butter
1 bunch broccoli coarsely chopped
4 green onions chopped
1 head romain lettuce

  • Combine Sweet and Sour Dressing ingredients in a bown, cover and chill. Stir fry walnuts and broken Ramen noodles in butter until light brown. Cool and drain on paper towel. Combine noodles and walnuts with broccoli, romaine lettuce, and onions. Pour 1 cup of the chilled Sweet & Sour dressing over salad immediately before serving and toss.

Romaine lettuce
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup cider vinegar
2 tsp soy sauce
1 pkg ramen noodles (discard seasoning mix)
1-1/2 cup chopped broccoli
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • In a jar or Tupperware container mix the sugar, olive oil, cider vinegar, and soy sauce. In a skillet, saute the ramen noodles in margarine or cooking spray until golden brown. Set aside. Combine the romaine lettuce, broccoli, noodles, and chopped walnuts. Toss with dressing mixture right before serving.
