Honey-Glazed Crispy Snack Mix image

Serve up a big bowl of this sweet and crispy snack and watch it disappear. If you like, substitute peanuts, cashews or even mixed nuts for the pecans.

Number Of Ingredients 5

8 cups Crispix
3 cups miniature pretzels
2 cups pecan halves
2/3 cup butter, cubed
1/2 cup honey

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the cereal, pretzels and pecans; set aside. In a small saucepan, melt butter; stir in honey until well blended. Pour over cereal mixture and stir to coat. Spread into two greased 15x10x1-in. baking pans. Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until mixture is lightly glazed, stirring occasionally. Cool in pan for 3 minutes; remove from pan and spread on waxed paper to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

1 (17.9-ounce) box crunchy corn and rice cereal 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar 1 cup land o lakes® butter 1/2 cup light corn syrup 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 250°F. Spray roasting pan with no-stick cooking spray. Place cereal in prepared pan. Combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt in 3-quart saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat until mixture comes to a boil (8 to 9 minutes). Continue cooking, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add baking soda; mix well. Pour syrup mixture over cereal; toss gently until well coated. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes, or until coating is set. Spread mixture onto waxed paper. Cool 10 minutes. Break apart. Store in container with tight-fitting lid.

2 cups brown sugar, packed
1 cup butter
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 pinch salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • Heat oven to 250 degrees.
  • Spray a roasting pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Place the cereal into the pan.
  • In a 3-quart saucepan combine brown sugar, butter and light corn syrup; cook over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil (about 8-10 minutes) continue cooking stirring constantly for 1 minute; remove from heat, then add in baking soda and mix well.
