Crabmeat and pasta are tossed with a creamy seasoned sauce in this great chilled salad.

1 (12 ounce) package uncooked pasta shells
½ cup light sour cream
½ cup light mayonnaise
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon honey mustard
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound cooked crabmeat
½ cup diced red bell pepper
½ cup diced green bell pepper
½ cup chopped green onions

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook pasta shells 10 to 12 minutes, until al dente, and drain.
  • In a bowl, blend the sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, honey mustard, and dill. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a large bowl, toss together the cooked pasta, sour cream mixture, crabmeat, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and green onions. Cover and chill until serving.

1 package (16 ounces) medium shell pasta
1 package (16 ounces) imitation crabmeat, flaked
3 green onions, thinly sliced
1/2 cup chopped carrot
1/2 cup chopped cucumber
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon seasoned salt
2 teaspoons cider vinegar
1-1/2 to 2 teaspoons pepper
Leaf lettuce, optional

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and rinse in cold water. Place in a large bowl; add crab, onions, carrot, cucumber and green pepper. Combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, sugar, seasoned salt, vinegar and pepper; pour over salad and toss to coat. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours. Serve in a lettuce-lined bowl if desired.

I love crab salad. This is my version.

1 pkg imitation crab meat (i prefer louis kemp)
1/2 c celery, diced fine
1-2 slice onion, diced fine
DRESSING
1/4 c ranch dressing, light
1/2 c mayonnaise, light (i like hellmans)
1 tsp sweet relish
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp dill, dried
5-6 dash(es) salt and pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • 1. Rinse and drain the imitation crab meat. Flake into a medium bowl.
  • 2. Dice the celery and onion. Add to the crab meat.
  • 3. In a small bowl, combine the ranch dressing, mayo, relish, and garlic powder.
  • 4. Pour the dressing mixture over the crab meat and stir to mix. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, top with dill weed, then toss lightly to mix. Chill for one hour to blend flavors.
  • 5. Notes: You can substitute 1 T. dried minced onion for the fresh onion.

I've been making this for years. I usually just "chop and dump", so I've gotten the proportions as close as I can, I think. Add more or less mayo, if you like, because I usually don't measure. The same with the tarragon and dill weed. Add more if you like it, less if you don't.

1 stalk celery, chopped fine
1 can black olives, drained and sliced
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
1 teaspoon dried tarragon
1 teaspoon dill weed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions;drain and rinse with COLD water; drain again.
  • In a large bowl, combine all ingredients.

Dungeness Crab and Fennel Salad with Creamy Lime Dressing image

For salad
2 fennel bupounds (anise), stalks discarded
1 pound fresh Dungeness crabmeat, picked over
1/2 pound baby spinach leaves
For dressing
2 tablespoons Champagne vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 large egg yolk
1/2 tablespoon mild honey
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 tablespoon grated lime zest
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil (not Asian; optional)
Equipment: an adjustable-blade slicer

Steps:

  • Halve fennel lengthwise (or quarter if large) and discard core, then shave fennel lengthwise as thinly as possible using slicer. Soak sliced fennel in a bowl of ice and cold water until it is crisp, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • Blend all dressing ingredients, except oils, with 1/2 teaspoon salt in a blender at high speed until combined. With blender still on high, add oils in a slow stream thourough top hole, blending until emulsified. Season with salt and white pepper.
  • Drain fennel and pat dry, then toss with crabmeat and dressing. Divide spinach among 4 plates and top with crab salad.

A light creamy crab salad that I could not find A close recipe Anywhere. My grandmother used to make this to go on crackers as an appetizer or on a bed of lettuce. I have found this in one chinese buffet and several others that didnt taste right. Refrigerate til next day for best flavor!! I could eat the whole bowl myself! Mostly found made with Imitation crab but you can try with fresh.(larger recipe because it holds well refrigerated and tastes better each day) Can be halfed but you will wish you had more the third day!

32 ounces of flaked imitation crabmeat
16 ounces baby shrimp (optional)
one stalks celery, chopped small
half onion, chopped small (about 1/8 c.)
1/3 cup light mayonnaise
1/2 cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoons sugar
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Brake up crab into smaller opened up pieces.
  • Rinse and drain tiny shrimp.
  • Mix in celery and onion.
  • Mix together sugar with mayo and evap. milk.
  • Combine with crab mixture.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.(pepper really brings good flavor).
  • Chill for at least 4 hrs for best taste, overnight recommended.
  • (This is supposed to be wet and creamy when first made. Some Imitation crab soak up a bit of the liquid as it sits.).
  • Mix thoughly before serving.

1/4 cup chopped green onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
fresh ground black pepper
1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese
1/4 cup plain yogurt or 1/4 cup nonfat sour cream
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
lettuce leaf
1 medium tomatoes, cut into wedges

Steps:

  • In small bowl, combine the crabmeat, onions, celery, garlic powder, pepper, cottage cheese, yogurt and mustard.
  • Mix well.
  • Place washed and drained lettuce leaves on 2 chilled salad plates.
  • Spoon crab mixture onto lettuce and garnish with tomato wedges.
