This cranberry salad was a recipe from my mother's family, and we have served it at New Braunfels Smokehouse for as long as any of us can remember.-Wanna Wade, San Angelo, Texas

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
1 tablespoon cold water
2 packages (3 ounces each) cherry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
1 can (14 ounces) whole-berry cranberry sauce
1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, drained
1/4 cup chopped celery

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine unflavored gelatin and cold water; let stand for 1 minute. Add cherry gelatin and boiling water; stir until dissolved. Stir in the cranberry sauce, pineapple and celery., Pour into a 6-cup mold coated with cooking spray. Refrigerate until set. Unmold onto a serving plate.

Almost 30 years ago, one of my cousins served this for her bridal shower with turkey salad in the middle of the beautiful jello ring. It was so lovely I've never forgotten it. This Taste of Home recipe looks like the one I remember.

1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
1 tablespoon cold water
2 (3 ounce) packages cherry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
1/4 cup chopped celery

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine unflavored gelatin and cold water; let stand for 1 minute.
  • Add cherry gelatin and boiling water; stir until dissolved.
  • Stir in the cranberry sauce, pineapple and celery.
  • Pour into a 6-cup mold coated with nonstick cooking spray. Refrigerate until set. Un-mold onto a serving plate.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 can (15 oz.) crushed pineapple
2 large pkgs. cherry flavored jello
3/4 C. sugar (Splenda works fine here)
2 C. hot water
1/2 C. cold water
1-2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 C. raw cranberries (1 lb.), ground
in food processor
1 small orange, ground
1 C. chopped celery
1/2 C. broken pecans or walnuts

Steps:

  • Drain pineapple, reserving syrup. Combine gelatin & sugar; dissolve in hot water. Add cold water, lemon juice & reserved syrup. Chill till partially set. Add pineapple, & remaining ingred. Turn into 2 quart mold and chill until fully set.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 1/2 C Sugar
1/2 Orange, cut into quarters and seeded
3 C Raw or Frozen Cranberries
2 Packages Unflavored Gelatin
1 C Cold Water

Steps:

  • 1. Combine 1 1/2 C sugar and 1/2 of the orange (2 quarters) in the bowl of a food processor. Process to chop coarsely. Add 3 cups cranberries and process/chop. 2. Soften 2 packages of unflavored gelatin in 1 cup cold water. Bring to a boil in the microwave. Pour boiling gelatin mixture through the feed tube of the processor with the machine running. Mixture will be very liquid. 3. Pour the mixture into a 4 cup ring mold and chill several hours or overnight until firm. Turn out onto a tray or platter lined with greens. We usually make this the night before and pull it out about 30 minutes before we sit down at the table.
