2 tablespoons olive oil
3 onions, thinly sliced, separated into rings
8 hamburger patties (1/4 lb. each)
3 tablespoons A.1. Original Sauce
2 tomatoes, sliced
8 hamburger buns, partially split
8 slices cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat grill to medium heat.
  • Meanwhile, heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat.
  • Add onions; cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Cover with lid. Simmer 20 minute or until onions are golden brown, stirring frequently.
  • Meanwhile, grill patties 5 minute on each side or until medium doneness (160ºF). Stir steak sauce into onion mixture.
  • Place 1 tomato slice and burger on bottom half of each bun; cover with 1 slice cheese, 3 tablespoons of the onion mixture and top of bun.

I got this recipe from Whole Foods website. This is a wonderful recipe, my husband asks me to make these almost every weekend. Note* We only use 1 or 2 jalapenos or it is too spicy for us

8 slice bacon, cooked and crumbled
4 small jalapenos, chopped
1 c shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
4 or 5 large hamburger buns

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients together (except buns of coarse) and make patties
  • 2. Grill for about 15 minutes each side
  • 3. Add your favorite toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, etc

1/4 cup mashed drained canned kidney beans
1 pound ground beef (7% fat)
6 tablespoons hickory barbecue sauce
4 teaspoons prepared white horseradish
4 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Nonstick vegetable oil spray
4 oversize wheat rolls, halved
4 1/3-inch-thick slices red onion
Watercress sprigs

Steps:

  • Place mashed beans in medium bowl. Mix in next 6 ingredients. Shape into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.
  • Prepare barbecue (medium heat). Spray cut sides of rolls and both sides of burgers and onion slices with nonstick spray. Grill cut sides of rolls until toasted, about 1 minute. Transfer rolls to plates. Grill burgers about 4 minutes per side for medium; grill onion slices about 5 minutes per side. Place 1 burger, 1 onion slice and some watercress on each roll bottom. Cover each with roll top.

1/2 cup tomato sauce
3 tablespoons chopped onions
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 lb hamburger
4 hamburger buns
cooking spray

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, simmer together the tomato sauce, onion, garlic, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes and cool completely.
  • Mix the beef with the barbecue sauce in a large bowl.
  • Shape into 4 patties and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Lightly coat the grill with cooking spray and preheat for 5 minutes.
  • Grill the hamburgers for 7-8 minutes.

8 slices black pepper bacon or 8 slices apple-smoked bacon
1 1/3 lbs ground turkey breast
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 large shallot, finely chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried thyme
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1/2 small bell pepper, finely chopped (green, red, or yellow)
1 serrano peppers or 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 -2 teaspoon hot sauce
2 teaspoons McCormick's Montreal Brand steak seasoning
oil, for drizzling
1/2 lb deli-sliced monterey jack pepper cheese
4 crusty kaiser rolls, split
1 cup sweet red pepper relish
red leaf lettuce

Steps:

  • Heat a big nonstick skillet over med-high heat; cook bacon until crisp; remove bacon, wipe excess grease from skillet, and return skillet to heat.
  • While bacon is cooking, combine turkey, garlic, shallot, thyme, cilantro, bell pepper, serrano, cumin, hot sauce, and grill seasoning.
  • Divide mixture into 4 equal mounds then form into patties.
  • Drizzle patties with oil to coat; cook in skillet over med-high heat 5-6 minutes on each side, until done, placing sliced cheese over the patties in the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  • Place cooked cheeseburgers on buns; spread sweet relish on bun tops and set lettuce into place using relish as "glue'.
