20 slices white bread
3 (6 1/2 ounce) cans clams, drained
1/3 cup thinly sliced onion
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4-1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
6 tablespoons parmesan cheese
6 tablespoons melted butter

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients except bread and butter.
  • Trim crusts off bread and roll each slice with a rolling pin until thin.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of clam mixture on bread and roll the bread up jellyroll style.
  • Brush with butter and place 1" apart on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 400F for about 12-15 minutes, until lightly browned.

8 ounces bleached white flour
8 ounces corn flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon white pepper
6 ounces soft shell clams
1 cup evaporated milk
Vegetable oil, to fry
Butter
Split top hot dog roll

Steps:

  • Preheat a grill.
  • Combine the flour, corn flour, salt, and white pepper. Dip clams in evaporated milk then dredge in the seasoned flour mixture. Fill a deep pot halfway full with oil and heat to 350 degrees F.
  • Fry the clams in the vegetable oil for approximately 1 to 2 minutes (depending on size), until golden brown. Lightly butter a split-top hot dog roll and grill on both sides. Place clams on roll and enjoy.
