Mayonnaise
Honey mustard
1/2 Granny Smith apple, very thinly sliced
4 ounces thinly sliced smoked pork and beef sausage, such as Otto's Hunter sausage, or your favorite German ham
Whipped cream cheese
1 piece green leaf lettuce
2 slices Havarti cheese

Steps:

  • Spread one slice of the bread with mayonnaise and honey mustard. Top with the apple slices and sausage. Spread the remaining slice of bread with cream cheese. Top with lettuce and the Havarti. Put the sides together.

3 large limes, divided
6 large oranges , divided
3 quarts water
1 1/2 cups sugar, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Squeeze the juice from 5 of the lemons, 3 of the limes and 5 of the oranges; pour into a gallon container.
  • Add water and sugar to juices; mix well.
  • Thinly slice the remaining orange and lemon and set aside for garnish.
  • Chill thoroughly and keep in the refrigerator. Serve on ice with orange and lemon slices.

1 orange, sliced
1 lime, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1/2 cup sugar
4 cups water
6 ounces citrus vodka, optional

Steps:

  • Combine the citrus fruit with the sugar in a glass pitcher. Muddle the fruit with a wooden spoon or muddler until all the juice has been extracted from the fruit. Add 4 cups of water. Mix well and pour over ice filled glasses. Add citrus vodka, if desired.

1 cup fresh orange juice

  • Stir 1 cup water and sugar in small saucepan over medium-low heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to boil. transfer syrup to pitcher and chill until cold. Add orange juice, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and lemon juice to pitcher and stir to blend. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead. Keep chilled.) Fill 4 glasses with ice. Pour citrus cooler over and serve.

4 cups water
9 large lemons
4 oranges
9 cups carbonated water, approximately (such as Perrier)

Steps:

  • Bring sugar and water to a boil in a large pot over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  • Remove sugar syrup from heat.
  • Zest lemons and oranges, adding peelings to sugar syrup.
  • Juice fruits, adding to sugar syrup.
  • Let stand at room temperature for 6 hours.
  • Strain mixture.
  • Serve over carbonated water and ice.
