1/2 pound bulk pork sausage
1 loaf (1 pound) cinnamon-raisin bread, cubed
6 large eggs
1-1/2 cups 2% milk
1-1/2 cups half-and-half cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
TOPPING:
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons maple syrup

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat 4-6 minutes or until no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles; drain. In a greased 13x9-in. baking dish, combine bread and sausage., In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg until blended; pour over bread. Refrigerate, covered, several hours or overnight., Preheat oven to 350°. Remove casserole from refrigerator while oven heats. In a small bowl, beat topping ingredients until blended. Drop by tablespoonfuls over casserole., Bake, uncovered, 35-45 minutes or until golden brown and a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.

5 cups cubed cinnamon raisin bread
1 ½ cups milk
4 eggs
¼ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons softened butter, cut into chunks
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly butter an 8x8-inch baking pan.
  • Pour bread cubes into the prepared pan.
  • Beat milk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract together in a bowl until evenly mixed; pour mixture over bread cubes. Arrange butter chunks atop bread mixture. Set aside for bread to absorb liquid, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until top is golden, 45 to 50 minutes.

I had this some time ago and hadn't had it in years. I came across it in my cookbook and thought I would post it here. My SIL's aunt made this for her baby shower and it was absolutely delicious. I hope you enjoy it as well. Bev's Cinnamon Sunrise Bread is the one that I used this last time and it came out amazing.

1 loaf cinnamon-swirl bread
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cut in cubes
1 dozen egg, beaten
3 cups milk
1/3-1/2 cup maple syrup
cinnamon, for dusting

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Cube the bread and mix that with the cubed cream cheese.
  • Layer half of this into a 13x9 inch baking dish or 2 quart casserole dish.
  • Mix together the milk and syrup with the eggs and pour half of this mixture over the bread and cheese.
  • Add remaining bread and cheese and pour remaining egg mixture over the top.
  • Dust with cinnamon.
  • Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Serve with extra syrup.

Imagine waking up to the smell of Cinnamon, Vanilla and Baked bread. This is a crowd pleaser with a house full of guys. Put it together before bed and ready to bake in the morning. The smell is inviting and everyone shows up at the table for a hearty breakfast.

1 lb loaf of cinnamon/raisin bread or any other bread your choice
8 oz pkg. of cream cheese
8 large eggs
2 c half and half
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c maple syrup
2 Tbsp vanilla extract
1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg (optional) i love the flavor

Steps:

  • 1. Cube the cinnamon/raisin bread. Place 1/2 of the bread cubes in a greased 9" x 13" dish. Top with cream cheese and remaining bread.
  • 2. In a large bowl combine remaining ingred's. Pour over the top of the bread mixture. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • 3. In the morning...Remove from the fridge and allow to stand for 30 mins. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake covered for 30 minutes until knife inserted comes out clean. Dust with powder sugar.
  • 4. Warm syrup in pan over low heat or in microwave drizzle onto each serving. Enjoy!

I like to make this when we have overnight guests. They can enjoy their morning coffee and maybe some fruit while it bakes.

4 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 c milk
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 c maple syrup
1 large loaf of cinnamon swirl or cinnamon raisin swirl bread, buttered, crusts removed
5 oz cream cheese, cut in small cubes
warm maple syrup, for serving

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 2 1/2 quart casserole or 9x13 Pyrex pan.
  • 2. In a large bowl, combine lightly beaten eggs, milk cinnamon and 1/4 cup maple syrup.
  • 3. Place a layer of buttered bread in the bottom of prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 cream cheese. Repeat with another layer of bread. The shape of your pan decides how many layers you will make.
  • 4. Slowly pour egg mixture over top and sprinkle with remaining cream cheese cubes. Let stand one hour or cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours.
  • 5. Set baking sheet on lowest rack of over to catch any drippings. Bake strata, uncovered, on middle shelf until top is nicely browned and bubbly. About 1 hour.
  • 6. Serve with warm maple syrup.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/3 c plus 2 tablespoons sugar divided
4 eggs
3/4 c milk
1 Tbsp maple syrup
9 slice cinnamon raisin bread
2 c chopped apple ( i used 1 honey crisp) you can use what ever kind you want.
1 tsp cinnamon divided
1/4 c raisins
3-4 oz cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla
2-3 Tbsp melted butter

Steps:

  • 1. Butter a casserole dish. In a bowl whisk the milk, vanilla, sugar, eggs, maple Syrup, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon together. Set aside.
  • 2. Rip bread in to pieces like you would for stuffing. Toss in egg mixture with the apples and raisins. Coat evenly.
  • 3. Pour in to a casserole dish. Drizzle melted butter over it. Mix 2 TB sugar with a 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Sprinkle over casserole. Dot with pieces of cream cheese. Cover with saran and put in fridge at least 3 hours or over night .
  • 4. Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes, or until lightly browned. I drizzle a little more butter over it before serving. Serve right away after removing from oven. Dust with powdered sugar, or serve with syrup.
