CINNAMON DESSERT SAUCE
Good on cakes, apple pie or steamed puddings. Try it on pancakes or waffles, too. From the United States Regional Cookbook, Culinary Arts Institute of Chicago, 1947.

Steps:
- Combine sugar, flour and salt.
- Add boiling water gradually, stirring constantly.
- Add butter and cook for five minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in cinnamon.
CHOCOLATE-CINNAMON DESSERT SAUCE

Steps:
- In a saucepan, mix together the sugar, half and half, chocolate chips, butter, and cinnamon. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture simmers and the chocolate is completely melted, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and cool.
