CINNAMON OATMEAL PANCAKES WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR!

Categories     Pancakes

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 qt jar, wide mouth if possible
2 c oats, quick cooking
1/2 c brown sugar
1 c all purpose flour **
1 c wheat flour, whole **
1 Tbsp baking powder, plus 1 1/2 tsp
1/2 c dry milk powder
2 1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
~~additional recipe makings (receiver adds)
2/3 c vegetable oil
4 eggs, beaten
2 c water
*****see note at bottom

Steps:

  • 1. YOU'RE PART - FILL THE JAR Layer the jar with the ingredients as they are listed above. Make sure that you pack each layer down tightly so that you can get all the layers in to the jar.
  • 2. When done seal with lid and ring. You may want to fancy it up with a piece of cloth around the top and some ribbon to attach it and the instructions.
  • 3. TO THE MIX IT SELF/ PRINT IT OUT LIKE THIS FOR YOUR GUEST: 1 JAR CINNAMON OAT PANCAKE MIX 2/3 CUPS VEGETABLE OIL 4 EGGS, BEATEN 2 CUPS WATER
  • 4. Preheat a greased griddle or pan that is over medium/low heat. In a bowl place the mix and set aside. In a small bowl mix eggs and oil then pour it into the pancake mix along with the water alternating as you go; make sure to mix it thoroughly (there may be some small lumps and that is ok)
  • 5. Pour out about 1/4 cup of batter at a time in to the prepared griddle/pan into round circles. Cook until golden brown on both sides, flipping when the top starts bubbling (to cook the other side).
  • 6. ~~~~~ Good side note: You can give a bottle of real maple syrup, jam/jelly/preserve, or flavored butter to go with this also.
  • 7. ** FLOUR: There is 2 cups of flour used in this, it can be subbed out for what ever kind you like. This is a very flexable recipe
  • 8. *****NOTE: If you have a Food Saver System with a large jar seal attachment you can use it to seal wide mouth jars and give them as gifts. There is also a regular size seal but it is easier to fill the wide. When filling jars I find that when doing layers that if you press/compress them you can get every thing in that is needed to get in. I find a canning muddier/press works good for me ;( The picture above is sealed and was a item at a Christmas bizarre)
