CHRISTMAS JELLO SALAD

Christmas Jello Salad image

It just would not be any holiday in our house without this jello salad. My mother-in-law was the one who started this tradition many years ago, and now has passed her recipe on to me. This rich jello salad has a beautiful presentation with the cherry and lemon jello. To cut a few of the calories from this salad, I use the 1/3 less fat cream cheese and sugar free jello.

Vintage Christmas Jello Poke Cake Recipe - (4.3/5) image

Provided by á-46561

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 (18 ounces) white or french vanilla cake mix
+ eggs, oil and water called for on cake mix
1 (3 ounce) box strawberry, raspberry or cherry jello
1 (3 ounce) box lime jello
2 cups boiling water
1 (16 ounce) container whipped topping or Cool Whip frosting
Holiday sprinkles

Steps:

  • Prepare and bake cake according to package directions for a 2 layer round cake. Place cooled cake layers, top-sides up, in clean 8 or 9-inch round pans; pierce with large fork at 1/2-inch intervals. In separate bowls, add 1 cup boiling water to each flavor dry gelatin mix. Stir 2 minutes or until completely dissolved. Slowly pour 3/4 of the red gelatin mixture over 1 cake round and 3/4 of the lime gelatin over second cake layer. When pouring the Jell-O over the cake layers it will look like the whole cake is saturated with color, but the gelatin mixture will only enter the holes that you made with the fork. Discard the remaining jello or save for another purpose. Frost cake layers with whipped topping or Cool Whip frosting. Add sprinkles. Refrigerate cake at least 1 hour before serving.

LAYERED CHRISTMAS JELLO CUPS

Layered Christmas Jello Cups image

Layered Christmas Jello cups are fun, festive and easy to make for holiday parties! This layered Jello recipe is made with cherry and lime gelatin for a delicious flavor combination in the perfect colors for Christmas!

Provided by @MakeItYours

Number Of Ingredients 3

4 small boxes (3 oz Jello - 2 boxes cherry, 2 boxes lime (or other green and red jello flavors!))
2 cups vanilla yogurt
whipped cream for topping, optional

Steps:

  • For each layer, boil 1 cup water (I do this in the microwave) and then add the contents of one flavor of jello. Stir with a fork until the jello is totally dissolved and then divide the mixture in half, saving half in a separate bowl.
  • Add 1/2 cup yogurt to half of the jello mixture and stir until well combined. Pour the yogurt/Jello mixture into your dishes* and then place in the refrigerator in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes or until completely set.
  • Add 3 Tbsp water to the other half of the jello that you reserved. Set aside. As soon as the yogurt layer is set, you can pour the reserved layer on top. Refrigerate again until set.
  • Repeat steps 1-3 with the other flavor of jello and then repeat the steps two more times. If you use a deeper dish, you can repeat the layers as many times as you want - you'll just need more jello!
  • I like to put a little bit of whipped cream on top just before serving! Totally optional!

CHRISTMAS JELLO RECIPE - (4/5)

Christmas Jello Recipe - (4/5) image

Provided by á-2788

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 box (6 ounces or 170 g) of Jell-O or store brand "gelatin dessert" in red color (strawberry)
1 box (6 ounces or 170 g) of Jell-O or store brand "gelatin dessert" in green color
1 can (26 ounces) sweetened condensed milk (740 g)
12 unflavored gelatin sheets (20 g or .7 ounces powdered gelatin
Vegetable oil to grease the molds for optimal unmolding

Steps:

  • For each gelatin flavor, follow the manufacturer's instructions. In my case, I had to dissolve one box of jello into two cups of boiling water, and then add another two cups of cold water and stir until dissolved. Pour the jello into a container or a foil disposable mold (grease it for better un-molding and chill (overnight is best, but 3 hours is enough). After chilling the two flavors, cut them into small blocks, and mix them. Oil lightly a bundt mold, and place the mixed blocks on it. In a separate bowl, place 12 sheets unflavored gelatin into 1 cup cold water. After the gelatin blooms (5 minutes), add 1 cup boiling water and dissolve. Add the can of condensed milk. Stir and cool for at least 15 minutes. Pour cooled milk mixture over jello and chill overnight. Un-mold and enjoy!

CATHEDRAL'S WINDOW (CHRISTMAS JELLO) RECIPE - (4.3/5)

Cathedral's Window (Christmas jello) Recipe - (4.3/5) image

Provided by vlacer

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 (90g) packs clear unflavored gelatin
1 (90g) pack red gelatin (flavored or unflavored; I used strawberry flavored)
1 (90g) pack green gelatin (flavored or unflavored; I added a few drops of pandan essence to mine)
1 cup all purpose cream
1/2 cup condensed milk

Steps:

  • Empty the contents of the red and green gelatin into two separate sauce pans. Pour 1.69 cups (400ml) of water into each pan. Stir to dissolve the gelatin granules. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, just until the mixtures start to bubble. Pour into two separate trays and allow to cool and set. When the green and red gelatin have set, cut into one-inch cubes. Pour into the mold. Stir lightly to distribute. Empty the contents of the two packs of unflavored gelatin into a clean sauce pan. Add the condensed milk and mix with the gelatin well. Place the cream in a measuring cup and add enough water to measure 3.38 cups (800ml) Pour into the sauce pan, stirring to dissolve the gelatin. Cook over medium heat, stirring, just until the mixture starts to bubble. Pour the white gelatin into the mold. Do this little by little so that each time you pour, a few of the red and green cubes float. That way, the red and green cubes are distributed rather than remaining at the bottom. Cool and chill the gelatin for a couple of hours before serving.
