This quick-to-fix candy is sure to please all ages when added to a homemade cookie tray. We show two versions here: vanilla chips with colorful miniature baking bits and milk chocolate chips with broken pretzels. Create your own variations using different flavored chips and add-ins such as crushed candy canes, dried fruits or crunchy nuts.

1 package (10 to 12 ounces) vanilla or white chips or 1 package (11-1/2 ounces) milk chocolate chips
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1-1/4 to 1-1/2 cups M&M's minis or pretzel sticks

Steps:

  • In a heavy saucepan or microwave, melt chips with oil; stir until smooth. Cool for 5 minutes. Stir in M&M's or pretzels. Spread onto a waxed paper-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for 10 minutes. Remove from the refrigerator; break into pieces. Store in an airtight container.

A SPECIAL treat for the family at Christmas! Quick and easy to prepare. May be placed in gift bags with a pretty bow. Ingredients can vary with your choice of substitutions. Something good to munch on!

1 lb white almond bark
3/4 cup Rice Krispies
3/4 cup pretzel, broken up
3/4 cup coconut
1 cup dry roasted peanuts
1/2 cup M&M's plain chocolate candy, red and green

Steps:

  • Melt almond bark or white chocolate chips in microwave or use a double boiler on stove top.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • Line a cookie sheet with wax paper. Quickly place by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Allow to set up and harden. (I sometimes refrigerate them for a few minutes.).

2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 ½ cups mini candy-coated chocolate pieces

Steps:

  • Line a baking pan with wax paper or foil.
  • In a microwave safe bowl combine vanilla chips and vegetable oil; microwave on high until chips are melted. Stir until smooth; let cool for 2 minutes. Stir in candy-coated chocolate pieces. Spread mixture onto prepared pan; chill for 10 minutes and break into pieces.

2 lbs white almond bark
1 cup crushed candy cane
1 teaspoon peppermint oil

Steps:

  • Place candy canes in a plastic bag and hammer into 1/4-inch chunks or smaller.
  • Break up the almond bark into pieces and melt in a double boiler.
  • Combine candy cane chunks and peppermint oil to almond bark.
  • Pour mixture onto a cookie sheet layered with wax paper and spread out evenly.
  • Place in refrigerator for 45 minutes or until firm.
  • Remove from cookie sheet and break into pieces.

2 cups Rice Krispies
2 cups miniature marshmallows
2 cups peanuts
1 pkg. white vanilla almond bark

Steps:

  • 1. Mix dry ingredients together in a large bowl, and then melt a block of vanilla almond bark in separate bowl in microwave, and pour into your dry ingredients bowl. Mix all together. Drop in clusters on wax paper. Cool until set. These are addictive and are terrific for Christmas parties!
