3/4 cup flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup instant oats
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup peanut butter chips
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Creating the Gift in a Jar:
  • Wash and thoroughly dry a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar.
  • Layer the ingredients in the jar as listed above starting with the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, oatmeal, brown sugar, peanut butter chips and then chocolate chips - make sure to press firmly with a flat bottomed object after each addition; make the layers as level as possible.
  • Secure the lid and decorate as desired; attach the instructions for making these cookies found below.
  • CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER OATMEAL COOKIES GIFT TAG:.
  • Additional ingredients to be added by the recipient: 1/2 cup butter, softened, 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
  • COOKIE INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • In a large bowl, blend the butter, egg and vanilla extract.
  • Add the contents of the jar, and stir until well mixed.
  • Drop the dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are light brown in color.
  • Allow to cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to wire racks and cool completely.

We can't decide whether the chocolate chips, toasted walnuts or Reese's Pieces™ are our favorite, but thankfully we don't have to! These easy-to-bake cookies use two different pouches of Betty Crocker™ cookie mix, which gives them a delicious flavor but keeps the recipe simple and easy-to-make. We suggest doubling this recipe because these fan-favorite peanut butter oatmeal cookies tend to go quick!

1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ oatmeal chocolate chip cookie mix
1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ peanut butter cookie mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup Reese's Pieces™ peanut butter candy in a crunchy shell
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl stir cookie mixes, butter and eggs until soft dough forms. Stir in chocolate chips, peanut butter pieces and walnuts.
  • On large ungreased cookie sheets, drop dough by scant 1/4 cupfuls about 2-inches apart. Bake 13 to 16 minutes or until light golden brown.
  • Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

2-1/2 cups butter, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups packed brown sugar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
6 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1-2/3 cups (11 ounces) peanut butter and milk chocolate chips
1 cup quick-cooking oats

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. Cream butter, peanut butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder; gradually beat into creamed mixture., Stir in chips and oats. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake until golden brown, 9-12 minutes. Cool 2 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks. Store in an airtight container.

3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Steps:

  • Mix together the flour, baking powder and baking soda.set aside.
  • Layer ingredients in order given in a wide-mouth quart jar. Press each layer firmly in place. It will be a tight fit.
  • Add chopped peanut butter cups last.
  • attach these instructions to jar:.
  • REESE'S PEANUT BUTTER CUP COOKIES:.
  • Remove peanut butter cups from jar and set aside.
  • Empty remaining cookie mix into large mixing bowl,. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
  • Add 1/2 cup butter, softened at room temperature.
  • DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE OR LIGHT BUTTER.
  • Add 1 large egg, slightly beaten, and 1 tsp vanilla.
  • Mix until completely blended.
  • You will need to finish mixing this with your hands. Mix in peanut butter cups.
  • Shape into walnut sized balls.
  • Place 2" apart on greased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 375*.for 12-14 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  • Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet.
  • Remove cookies to wire racks to finish cooling.
  • Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
