1 cup butter, softened
3 cups sugar
6 large eggs, room temperature
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup vanilla or white chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture just until blended (do not overmix). , Pour batter into 2 greased 9-in. square baking pans. Sprinkle with chips and nuts. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 30-35 minutes. Cool.

  • Melt butter; gently stir in the remaining ingredients, EXCEPT chocolate chips, just until mixed. Do not beat!

8 ounces semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1 1/4 cups sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush a 9-inch square baking pan with butter. Line bottom and two sides with a strip of parchment paper, leaving a 2-inch overhang on the two sides. Butter paper, and set pan aside. In a small bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  • Place butter and chocolate in a large heat-proof bowl set over (not in) a saucepan of gently simmering water. Heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth, 2 to 3 minutes; remove bowl from pan. 1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
¼ cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together shortening, brown sugar, and 1/2 cup white sugar. Beat in the 3 eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; blend into the sugar mixture. Stir in chocolate chips, and set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the cream cheese and 1/4 cup white sugar. Mix in the 2 remaining eggs.
  • Spread 1/2 of chocolate chip dough in bottom of the prepared pan. Pour cream cheese batter on top of dough. Sprinkle with pecans. Drop pieces of the remaining chocolate chip batter over filling. Don't worry if there are gaps; the batter will spread.
  • Bake for 45 minutes in preheated oven, or until lightly browned on the top. Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting into bars.

4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 cup butter, cubed
4 large eggs
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans, optional
Confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • In a microwave, melt unsweetened chocolate and butter; stir until smooth. In a large bowl, beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla for 1-2 minutes or until light and lemon-colored. Beat in chocolate mixture. Add flour; beat just until combined. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans if desired., Transfer to a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs. Cool on a wire rack. , Cut into bars. To serve, dust with confectioners' sugar or freeze. Brownies may be frozen for up to 6 months.

2 cups sugar

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
GLAZE:
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup 2% milk
1-1/4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the butter, eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients; add to butter mixture. Stir in water and chocolate chips until blended. , Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until brownies pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool on a wire rack., For glaze, in a microwave, melt the chips and butter with milk; stir until smooth. Whisk in the confectioners' sugar and vanilla until smooth. Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until mixture reaches a spreading consistency; frost brownies.
