CHILI SPAGHETTI WITH HOT DOGS
I found this recipe in the 2010 Taste Of Home Quick Cooking Annual Recipes.It was sent to them by Karen Tausend of Bridgeport,Michigan.I submitted this recipe to Food.com ( a.k.a. " ZAAR ") on August 3rd.2011. EDITED:On August 23rd.2011 I made this recipe and thought that Lori Mama's suggestion of adding garlic was a very good idea.So, after tasting the sauce by itself, about 3/4 teaspoon of garlic powder was added and let simmer for about 10 minutes.Lori Mama thank you so much for a wonderful idea :)

Steps:
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions.
- While pasta is cooking,in a large skillet,cook the hot dogs,onion and celery in the oil until tender.
- Add both the sauces,mustard,chili powder,garlic powder( if using ),salt,and pepper.
- Cook uncovered for 8 to 10 minutes, or until heated through,stirring occasionally.
- Drain spaghetti, toss with hot dog mixture.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
AUTHENTIC CINCINNATI CHILI
This was handed down to me by Mom, a Cincinnati native. Skimming the fat makes this a healthier version than most, and gives it the right consistency. I like mine 4-way, with spaghetti, raw chopped onions, grated mild cheddar, and oyster crackers!

Steps:
- Place the ground beef in a large pan, cover with about 1 quart of cold water, and bring to a boil, stirring and breaking up the beef with a fork to a fine texture. Slowly boil until the meat is thoroughly cooked, about 30 minutes, then remove from heat and refrigerate in the pan overnight.
- The next day, skim the solid fat from the top of the pan, and discard the fat. Place the beef mixture over medium heat, and stir in the onions, tomato sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, chocolate, chili powder, salt, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, cloves, allspice berries, and bay leaf. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 hours. Add water if necessary to prevent the chili from burning.

There are two variations in this. The first is to add an 8 ounce can sliced mushrooms to step 1. The other variation is to use 2 tablespoons chili powderinstead of 2 teaspoons chili powder.

- 1. Place oil in large saucepan. Saute the onions for 4 minutes. Add the hotdogs and saute another couple of minutes.
- 2. Add the tomato sauce, mustard, cumin, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce.
- 3. Cook until thickened a bit. Add the cooked spaghetti. Simmer 5 minutes. Serve with cheese sprinkled on top

Yes, thats right...spaghetti is coming out of these hot dogs!!! I loved this recipe as soon as I saw it! Its such a cool idea! My kids loved this and it was fun to make! I served this with a cheddar cheese sauce, as you can see in my photo! You can use a cheese sauce from your favorite mac n' cheese recipe!

- Cut each hot dog into 8 equal pieces.
- Push 5 pieces of raw spaghetti into each piece of hot dog.
- Fill a 5 quart pot with water and let boil. Then add all the hot dog pieces that are skewered with the spaghetti. Let boil for about 7 minutes. Drain and set aside.

I made this for the first time this evening - both husband and I DEVOURED it and very much enjoyed it. The chili had perfect flavor and the combo of the spaghetti and chili really mixed well. Hope you enjoy, too!
