- Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease bottom of 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray.
- Mix brownie batter as directed on box. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips and 1/4 cup cherries. Spread in pan.

CHERRY-FUDGE BROWNIES WITH CHOCOLATE SAUCE AND CHOCOLATE-DIPPED CHERRIES

- Make sauce:
- Press preserves through fine strainer into heavy medium saucepan. Add cream and bring to simmer. Remove from heat. Add chocolate and whisk until melted and smooth. (Can be made 2 days ahead. Cover; chill. Rewarm before serving.)
- Make brownies:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter 11 x 7-inch metal baking pan. Stir chopped chocolate and butter in heavy small saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth; remove from heat. Whisk sugar, eggs and vanilla in medium bowl until blended; whisk in chocolate mixture. Sift in flour, baking powder and salt; stir to blend. Mix in dried cherries and chocolate chips, then preserves. Spread batter in prepared pan.
- Bake brownies until tester inserted into center comes out with some moist crumbs still attached, about 35 minutes. Cool completely in pan on rack.
- Cut brownies into 8 rectangles. Cut rectangles diagonally in half, forming triangles. Spoon warm sauce onto 8 plates. Place 2 brownie triangles atop sauce on each plate. Sift powdered sugar over. Garnish with chocolate-dipped cherries.

- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Grease a 13x9x2- inch (or similar sized) pan.
- Stir together melted butter, sugar, cocoa, vanilla, and baking powder.
- I just use a rubber spatula for stirring; a wooden spoon should work just as well, or the mixer too.
- Then add an egg, stir it in well, add 1/3 cup flour, stir it in, and repeat until all eggs and flour have been added.
- The last flour addition will only be a quarter cup.
- If using a mixer, add all the eggs together, mix in and then add all of the flour.
- Make sure it's all mixed together thoroughly.
- Add the cherries and white chocolate chips and stir just until mixed.
- Pour the batter into the pan and spread it out evenly to the edges.
- Bake for 30 minutes, and then check.
- They should be done by then, but they may take another minute or two, but be careful not to overbake.
- Try to let them cool for half an hour before cutting.

- Preheat oven to slow, 150 Celsius. Lightly grease a 18 x 28 cm pan. Line with baking paper, extending paper 2cm above pan edge.

Make brownies according to pkg instructions except drain the cherry juice off of the cherries and use the juice as a substitute for the liquid ( milk or water)Chop up the cherries (save some for the frosting) in halves and add them to the brownie mix. - Cut 12 cherries in half, and set aside. Chop the remaining cherries, and set aside.

- Add the cocoa powder to the chocolate and whisk until smooth
- Pour the sugar mixture into the chocolate mixture and whisk until smooth
- Add the flour mixture and fold, making sure there are no air pockets
- Fold in your chocolate chips and cherries, though keep a handful to the side of both the cherries and chips to sprinkle on top
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared tin. Sprinkle your reserved cherries and chocolate chips on top. Bake for 35-40 minutes. The top should have crackled, and a toothpick inserted will have a few crumbs on it.
