Ground beef is my favorite meat to cook with because it's so versatile, flavorful and economical. Refrigerated biscuits save you the trouble of making dough from scratch. -Pat Chambless, Crowder, Oklahoma

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 tube (12 ounces) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
5 slices process American cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. In a large skillet, cook beef, onion, salt and pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain and cool. , Place 2 biscuits overlapping on a floured surface; roll out into a 5-in. oval. Place about 1/4 cup of meat mixture on 1 side. Fold a cheese slice to fit over meat mixture. Fold dough over filling; press edges with a fork to seal. Repeat with remaining biscuits, meat mixture and cheese. , Place on a greased baking sheet. Prick tops with a fork. Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown.

1/2 pound(s) ground beef
1/2 cup(s) each diced red onion, & diced pickles
4 clove(s) garlic minced
- salt and pepper
2 tablespoon(s) ketchup
1 teaspoon(s) each brown sugar, & worcestershire sauce
1 roll crescent roll dough
4 slice(s) american cheese
1 tablespoon(s) butter melted
black sesame seeds for garnish

Steps:

  • Preheat oven 375 degrees. Grease a muffin pan or Xtra large muffin pan
  • In a large skillet over medium heat add the ground beef, onions and garlic. Cook until no longer pink. Drain. Add the pickles, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface. Cut in circles and lay into the muffin areas. Fill each with the meat mixture and top with the cheese. Bring the dough up around the meat mixture.
  • Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 15 minutes until browned.

1 lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1 (16 1/3 ounce) can Pillsbury Grands refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1 cup cheddar and american blend cheese (4 oz)
16 dill pickle slices
1 egg, beaten, if desired
1 teaspoon sesame seeds, if desired

Steps:

  • BROWN beef and onion; drain. Stir in ketchup and mustard.
  • PRESS or roll each biscuit to 6-inch round. (if using the cheapy biscuits, use 2 and make a circle).
  • Fill with rounded 1/4 cup beef mixture, 2 tablespoons cheese and 2 pickle slices.
  • Fold dough over filling and press to seal.
  • Make 3 small slits in top of each.
  • Place on large ungreased cookie sheet.
  • If desired, brush tops with egg and sprinkle with sesame seed.
  • BAKE at 375°F 17 to 21 minutes or until deep golden brown.
