CHEDDAR BACON WEDGE SALAD

4 slices thick-cut bacon
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 clove garlic, pressed
1/2 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 head iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup grated sharp Cheddar or Cheddar-Jack

Steps:

  • In a medium skillet, fry the bacon slices until slightly crisp. Drain on paper towels and set aside to cool.
  • In a large bowl, combine the mayonnaise, buttermilk, sour cream and garlic. Add the vinegar, Worcestershire, salt, pepper and cayenne and whisk until the mixture is totally smooth.
  • Chop up the bacon into pieces. Cut the iceberg in half right through the middle, then cut the halves into wedges.
  • Spoon a good amount of the dressing over each wedge so that it drips down the sides, then sprinkle on the cheese and bacon.

Loaded Potato Wedges are the perfect game day or party appetizer. Tender potatoes loaded with bacon, cheese and drizzled with rich sour cream. A winner for any occasion!

5 small potatoes
2 Tbsp oil
2 Tbsp Johnny's Seasoning Salt (or any kind of seasoning salt)
1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 c bacon (cooked and crumbled)
1/4 c sour cream
2 tbsp chives (or italian seasoning)

Steps:

  • Scrub potatoes well, slice into wedges and place in a large plastic bag. Add a little oil and toss to coat then transfer to a foil-lined baking sheet with the skin side down. Sprinkle potatoes generously with seasoning salt. Bake at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes (or until cooked through and golden brown). Do not stir while cooking.
  • Sprinkle on cheese and crumbled bacon and bake for 2 more minutes, just long enough for the cheese to melt.
  • Drizzle sour cream over the top and sprinkle with chives or italian seasoning.

Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 head iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar or cheddar-jack cheese

Steps:

  • Fry the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until slightly crisp, 12 to 15 minutes. Drain on paper towels; set aside to cool.
  • Combine the mayonnaise, buttermilk, sour cream and garlic in a large bowl. Add the vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper and the cayenne and whisk until the mixture is smooth.

675 g frozen potato wedges
2 cups kraft cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup bacon, crispy cooked
1/4 cup green onion, chopped
1 pinch salt
1 pinch black pepper
sour cream

Steps:

  • bake potato wedges according to package directions.
  • in the meantime fry bacon, drain and crumble.
  • when potatoes are ready sprinkle with salt and black pepper if desired.
  • add cheese, bacon and green onions.
  • return to oven and bake until cheese melts, or until cheese is golden brown.
  • serve immediately with sour cream.
