BACON CHEDDAR FRIES

Tried this to put a twist on plain, old fries.

Number Of Ingredients 10

12 slice hickory smoked bacon
3 lb frozen french fries
6 Tbsp butter
6 Tbsp flour
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp pepper
3 c milk, 2%
2 c mild cheddar cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • 1. Cook bacon according to directions. Set aside.
  • 2. While fries are cooking, (we prefer to bake the fries) in medium sauce pan, melt butter, add flour and seasonings, mix well.
  • 3. Remove from heat and stir in milk
  • 4. Add cheese and stir until well blended.
  • 5. Pour over fries and top with crumbled bacon.

I needed something quick and easy, so threw this together. I should have made a double recipe as they were gobbled up in no time. Well received and so easy. I served them with my homemade garlic / ranch dressing, which will be posting as well. Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 - 32 oz crinkle cut fries
6 oz fresh shredded cheddar cheese - i use medium
1 1/2 oz shredded parmesan cheese
season salt & garlic salt to taste
5 slice thick bacon - cut into 1 inch pieces and cooked crisp
4 green onions - thin sliced - tops too

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400 degree F. Place fries on a baking sheet, spreading to make a single layer. Bake until desired crispiness. Turn on broiler.
  • 2. Remove fries and sprinkle with season and garlic salt. Sprinkle evenly with cheddar cheese, bacon and onion. Place under broiler and broil until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • 3. Remove from oven and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, immediately. Serve with your favorite dip, or use mine. which will be posted, in the comments section of this recipe. Enjoy!
