CHARLESTON CHEWIES WITH PECANS
Made from simple ingredients like brown sugar, butter and pecans, these chewies stir up in just minutes and will become a family favorite.

Steps:
- Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper or spray with non-stick spray.
- Melt butter over medium low heat.
- Mix brown sugar and flour in large mixing bowl.
- Pour melted butter into the large mixing bowl and combine. Add vanilla, eggs and pecans, stirring until well combined.
- Bake in prepared pan at 325 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cool completely before dusting with confectioners sugar and cutting into bars.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Grease a 13x9 inch pan.
- In a large mixing bowl mix the eggs,brown sugar,flour and vanilla together with mixer on low speed until well blended.
- Fold in the nuts.
- Pour the batter into prepared pan.
- Bake until golden brown on top,about 25 minutes.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Cool.
- Cut into squares.

- 1. 1. Boil milk, cocoa, and sugar for app. 5 minutes. 2. Remove from heat and add butter. 3.Stir until butter is melted. 4. Add peanut butter, vanilla, and oatmeal. 5. Mix and pour into greased casserole dish.
- 2. 6. Let set until firm. 7. Cut into squares.
CHARLESTON CHEWIES
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter an 8-inch square baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Turn off the heat and let cool slightly, then add the brown sugar, almond and vanilla extract and stir until smooth. Stir in the egg.
- Whisk together the flour and baking powder in a small bowl, then fold the mixture into the brown sugar mixture. Fold in the pecans. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake until set around the edges but still loose in the center, about 20 minutes. Let cool completely, then sift confectioners' sugar on top. Cut into 16 squares.

These are no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies. They are my favorite thing in the world! You may have to experiment with the boiling time so that when you scoop out the mixture, they are liquidy, but harden after about 10 minutes.

- In a pot, combine butter, milk, cocoa powder, sugar and vanilla.
- Bring to a boil, and time for 2.5 to 2.75 minutes. Careful with this! As I said, you may need to experiment.
- After boiling, remove from heat and stir in oatmeal.
- Scoop out of pot like you would cookie dough and drop on to waxed paper.
