Bow Ties with Asparagus, Cream, and Prosciutto image

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pound fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
salt
1 cup heavy cream
1 pound farfalle pasta
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
2 ounces sliced imported Italian prosciutto, cut crosswise into thin strips

Cook over high heat, stirring frequently, until the pasta is al dente, tender yet still firm to the bite. Set aside some of the cooking water. Drain the pasta. 4 Pour the pasta, cream, and cheese into a large serving bowl and toss well. Add a little cooking water if the sauce seems too thick. Add the asparagus and prosciutto and toss again. BOW TIE PASTA WITH SAUSAGE AND ASPARAGUS

Bow Tie Pasta With Sausage and Asparagus image

I'm typically not a lover of asparagus mixed with pasta but in this dish, IT ROCKS! My family appreciates a drier pasta so if yours likes things a bit saucier you may want to double the EVOO/butter to get it to your consistency. I usually love broccoli mixed in a pasta like this but the asparagus is by far the better choice!
