Great appetizer. Family favorite for many years. Make them in a pan or a slow cooker. You can use uncut small smoky sausages, too.

1 (16 ounce) package hot dogs, cut into bite-size pieces
½ cup bourbon whiskey
½ cup ketchup
½ cup brown sugar

Steps:

  • Place hot dogs, bourbon whiskey, ketchup, and brown sugar into a saucepan over medium heat. Heat, stirring often, until the brown sugar has dissolved and sauce is bubbly, 10 to 15 minutes.

2 lb cocktail wieners or cut hot dogs
2 c bbq sauce
1 c dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2 c bourbon (your favorite)

Steps:

  • 1. Put all ingredients into a small crock pot. Stir. Cook on low 4 hours, or until hot.

This recipe has long been a favorite at parties and potlucks. You may decrease the amount of bourbon if you like and add more Catsup.

1 (14 ounce) bottle catsup
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup Bourbon
2 lbs cocktail franks

Steps:

  • Combine Catsup, sugar, and bourbon in a saucepan.
  • Cook over low heat until sauce is thick. Add wieners. Pour into Crockpot and heat until sauce is bubbly.

1 pkg hot dogs cut into halves or fourths
1/2 c each brown sugar, ketchup, and jim beam bourbon

Steps:

  • 1. Mix brown sugar, ketchup, and bourbon together and simmer over low heat for 45 minutes. Add hot dogs and simmer 15 more minutes.
