1/2 c bourbon
1/2 c chili sauce
2/3 c brown sugar

Steps:

  • 1. place all ingredients except little smokies in Dutch oven. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Simmer 15 minutes until thickened. Add little smokies and simmer another 10 minutes. Serve

Super easy to make, our Classic Cocktail Wieners are ready in just 30 minutes. We've substituted raspberry jam for grape jelly and added a little more punch with chopped chipotle chiles in adobo sauce. There's no need to have a big meal planned next; this cocktail wiener recipe is so simple you can enjoy the classic appetizer as a main course too.

1 package (14 oz) cocktail-size wieners or smoked sausages
3/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup seedless raspberry jam
1 tablespoon chopped chipotle chiles in adobo sauce (from 7-oz can)

Steps:

  • In large saucepan, stir together all ingredients. Heat to boiling over medium heat; reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered 20 to 25 minutes or until thoroughly heated and wieners are plump.
  • Remove wieners from sauce to serving platter; pour sauce into small bowl. Serve with toothpicks or bamboo knotted party picks.

2 tablespoons butter
1 large shallot, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
2 ounces bourbon
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1 tablespoon ancho pepper, finely chopped
8 ounces chili sauce
8 ounces barbecue sauce
3 ounces wing sauce
Oil, for frying
50 chicken wings
Blue cheese dressing, for serving
Bourbon, for serving

Steps:

  • For the sauce:
  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter. Add the shallot and garlic cloves and saute, about 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the bourbon, brown sugar and the honey to heat through, 1 minute. Next add the ancho pepper, chili sauce, barbecue sauce, and wing sauce and cook, stirring occasionally for 2 minutes. Keep warm until ready to serve.
  • For the chicken wings:
  • Heat oil in a deep-fryer. As you make the sauce, drop chicken wings, in batches (the amount you drop in at 1 time will depend on the size of your fryer) into the deep-fryer. Fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove the wings from the oil and drain.
  • Add the wings to a large mixing bowl and toss in the sauce, coating each wing.
  • Serve blue cheese dressing and 1/2 shots of bourbon, on the side, for adults to sip.

This recipe has long been a favorite at parties and potlucks. You may decrease the amount of bourbon if you like and add more Catsup.

1 (14 ounce) bottle catsup
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup Bourbon
2 lbs cocktail franks

Steps:

  • Combine Catsup, sugar, and bourbon in a saucepan.
  • Cook over low heat until sauce is thick. Add wieners. Pour into Crockpot and heat until sauce is bubbly.
