Argentines eat more seafood dishes during Lent. Bocaditos (finger sandwiches), made with shrimp are a popular lunch or snack food during Lent.

12 thin slices french bread
1 3-oz container cream cheese with chives
1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
6 precooked shrimp
4 cherry tomatoes, sliced

Steps:

  • 1. Cut crusts off the bread.
  • 2. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on each slice of bread.
  • 3. Place cucumber slices, tomatoes, and shrimp on one slice, and cover with another slice of bread to make a sandwich. (Any combination of these ingredients may be used.)
  • 4. Cut into triangles or rectangles.

Number Of Ingredients 10

12 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup finely chopped almonds, toasted
1/4 cup chopped green onions
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Dash salt and pepper
12 thin slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
9 medium carrots, peeled
Additional cream cheese
36 almond slices

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, chopped almonds, onions, parsley, lemon juice, salt and pepper until blended. Spread over bread slices. Cut each into three 1-in.-wide strips., Cut carrots in half widthwise, then cut in half lengthwise. Using a vegetable peeler, shape carrot pieces into fingers. Using a small amount of additional cream cheese, attach an almond slice to the tip of each finger for finger nail. Place a finger on top of each sandwich.

1/2 cup KRAFT Real Mayo Mayonnaise
2 cans (4-1/4 oz. each) deviled ham
1/4 cup CLAUSSEN Sweet Pickle Relish
1/4 cup finely chopped drained pimentos
1/8 tsp. black pepper

Steps:

  • Mix cream cheese and mayo in medium bowl until blended.
  • Add remaining ingredients; mix well.
  • Refrigerate several hours or until chilled.
