Number Of Ingredients 9

Pastry for double-crust pie (9 inches)
6 cups sliced peeled fresh peaches
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
Dash ground nutmeg
3 tablespoons red-hot candies
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Line a 9-in. pie plate with bottom pastry; trim even with edge of plate. Set aside. , In a large bowl, toss peaches with lemon juice. Combine the sugar, flour, salt and nutmeg; add to peaches and toss to combine. , Pour into crust. Sprinkle with red-hots; dot with butter. , Roll out remaining pastry to fit top of pie. Place over filling. Trim, seal and flute edges. Cut slits in top. Cover edges loosely with foil. , Bake at 425° for 25 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°; remove foil and bake 20 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Cool on a wire rack.

4-5 c sliced fresh peaches
1 c sliced fresh strawberries
1/2 c granulated sugar
1/4 c all-purpose flour
CRUST
2 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
2/3 c + 2 Tbsp. butter flavor Crisco
1/4 c cold water

Steps:

  • 1. Mix flour, salt, and Crisco with a fork or pastry blender until resembles meal consistency.
  • 2. Add cold water and mix until dough forms.
  • 3. Form into two equal-size patties and refrigerate for about 1/2 hour.
  • 4. Roll out and form into a pie dish.
  • 5. Mix filling.
  • 6. Add filling to the pie dish and lay top crust over the pie. Seal by folding the top edge over the bottom edge and decorate the edge with a fork.
  • 7. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes. Cool completely before cutting. Serve with ice cream or whip cream.

This is my favorite recipe to use for making peach pie. I like the sugary topping in place of a traditional crust.

1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 (29 ounce) can sliced peaches, drained (reserve 1/4 c. juice)
1 pie crust (I like #18103-"My Own Pie Crust" by Lali)

Steps:

  • Combine the first four ingredients.
  • Put about 1/3 sugar mixture inside the crust.
  • Add peaches and juice.
  • Add remaining sugar mixture.
  • Bake at 425 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

Number Of Ingredients 6

pastry for 9 inch two crust pie
2 cans sliced peaches, drained, 29 oz each
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup red cinnamon candies
2 tbsp. margarine or butter

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 425. Prepare pastry or use store bought. Mix peaches, sugar, flour, and candies; turn into pastry lined pie plate. Dot with margarine. Cover with top crust that has slits cut in it; seal and flute
  • 2. Cover edges with 2 to 3 inch strip of foil to prevent excessive browning; remove foil during last 15 minutes of baking. Bake til crust is golden brown and juice begins to bubble through slits in crust, 40 to 50 minutes. Self rising flour may be used in this recipe.
