Number Of Ingredients 7

2 ounces gin
1 ounce lime juice
1 ounce Rosemary Simple Syrup, recipe follows
6 blueberries, plus more for garnish
Rosemary sprig, for garnish
1 cup granulated sugar
2 sprigs rosemary

Steps:

  • Add the gin, lime juice, Rosemary Simple Syrup and blueberries to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Cover and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds.
  • Fill an 8- to 12-ounce glass with ice and strain the cocktail over the ice. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and a few blueberries.
  • Add the sugar, rosemary sprigs and 1 cup water to a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a low simmer, stirring regularly, until the sugar has completely dissolved and the rosemary is fragrant, about 3 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and cool completely. Once cooled, remove and discard the rosemary sprigs.

1 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
15 juniper berries, crushed
1 (4-inch) rosemary sprig
2 pints blueberries (1 1/2 pounds)
1/4 cup dry gin
Garnish:
mint sprigs

Steps:

  • Boil water, sugar, juniper berries, rosemary, and a pinch of salt in a small saucepan, stirring until sugar has dissolved, until reduced to about 3/4 cup, 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Put blueberries in a heatproof bowl and strain syrup through a sieve over berries. Stir in gin. Macerate until completely cooled, about 30 minutes.

With blueberry season just around the corner, I will be making this one soon! I have a friend who has a blueberry farm, so I like to find interesting recipes to try, then pass on to her. I am thinking this could be used over ice cream or made into blueberry martinis
