1 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup ice cubes
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vodka
¾ cup spicy tomato-vegetable juice cocktail (e.g., V-8)
2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 dash hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabasco™)
salt and pepper to taste
1 stalk celery
2 stuffed green olives

Steps:

  • Salt the rim of a tall glass. To do so, pour salt onto a small plate, moisten the rim of the glass on a damp towel and press into the salt. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  • In a cocktail mixer full of ice, combine the vodka, vegetable juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, salt and pepper. Shake vigorously and strain into the glass. Garnish with a stalk of celery and olives stuck onto a toothpick.

6 limes, juiced
1 tablespoon celery seeds
3 tablespoons grated fresh or prepared horseradish
2 quarts tomato juice, chilled
2 tablespoons hot sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups pepper vodka, chilled in the freezer
Celery stalk, for serving
Cucumber spears, for serving
Handful fresh cilantro, for garnish

Steps:

  • Combine the lime juice, celery seed, and horseradish in a pitcher. Muddle the mixture with the end of a wooden spoon to blend and break up the celery seeds. Pour in the tomato juice, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce; season with salt and pepper. Stir everything together to combine.
  • Divide the vodka among 6 tall, chilled glasses filled with ice. Fill the glasses with the Bloody Mary mix, stick in the celery and cucumber and garnish with the cilantro. Give the Bloody Mary a good stir and serve.

2 1/2 oz. vodka
3/4 c. tomato juice
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 dashes hot sauce (optional)
1/4 tsp. prepared horseradish
1 pinch celery salt
1 pinch black pepper
To garnish: leafy celery stalks, cooked bacon, sliced lemon, chopped pickle spears, cherry tomatoes and green olives

Steps:

  • Combine the vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce (if using), horseradish, celery salt and black pepper in a tall glass. Stir well to combine. Fill the remainder of the glass with ice and stir once again.
  • Garnish with a piece of celery and bacon in the glass and a skewer of chopped pickles, cherry tomatoes, and green olives, if desired.

My husband brought this recipe to me from our local paper last weekend. He is a Bloody Mary lover and I wouldn't want this one to get away. Dan'l says this recipe is a winner!! Why make one glass, when you can make a pitcher full? This recipe makes 4-5 pint sized servings.

1 quart tomato juice
2 cups Clamato juice
1 1/2 cups vodka
1 1/2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon wasabi powder
1 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 lemon, juice of
1/2 lime, juice of
hot sauce
4 tablespoons coarse salt
2 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning
1 stalk celery (optional)
cucumber, cut in spears (optional)
lemon slices (optional) or lime slice (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine tomato juice, Clamato juice and vodka in a large pitcher and stir to blend.
  • Add remaining ingredients (except hot sauce) and stir with a wooden spoon until all is well blended.
  • Taste, then add hot sauce depending on how spicy you like your bloody mary (my husband likes plenty of spice!).
  • On a small plate, combine coarse salt and Old Bay seasoning.
  • Run a lemon or lime slice around the rim of your glass, then dip the rim into the Old Bay/salt mixture.
  • Add ice to your glass (if desired) and pour in the bloody mary mixture.
  • Garnish with desired items.
