Number Of Ingredients 10

1 pound lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 package (1 ounce) Old El Paso® taco seasoning mix
1 can (4.5 ounces) Old El Paso® chopped green chiles, drained
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup Original Bisquick® mix
3/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack or Cheddar cheese (3 ounces)
Old El Paso® salsa (any variety)
Sour cream, if desired

Steps:

  • Directions 1 Heat oven to 400°F. Grease 9-inch pie plate. Cook ground beef and onion in 10-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in seasoning mix (dry). Spoon into pie plate; top with chilies. 2 Stir milk, eggs and Bisquick mix until blended. Pour into pie plate. 3 Bake about 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 8 to 10 minutes longer. Cool 5 minutes. Serve with salsa and sour cream.

This is a vegetarian taco pie recipe that I came up with. If you are not a vegetarian feel free substituting the beans for any kind of meat! Just make sure to brown it first!

1-2 can(s) black or refried beans
1/3 onion, diced
1 can(s) corn
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
3/4 c salsa
3/4 c shredded cheese
1 c milk
2 eggs
1/2 c bisquick
SERVE ALONGSIDE:
lettuce
sour cream
salsa

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Spray a pie pan or round baking dish with non stick spray.
  • 2. Mix beans, onion, corn, & taco seasoning.
  • 3. Put bean mixture into pan. Sprinkle 1/4 cup cheese over the top.
  • 4. In a separate bowl mix the milk, eggs, and bisquick. Pour over pie.
  • 5. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Remove pie from oven and sprinkle remaining cheese over the top of the pie. Bake for and additional 5 minutes.
