BIRD MUFFINS
I found this recipe in a Bird and Bloom magazine a few years ago. Great for spearing through tree branches by a window or on a tray feeder.

Steps:
- Combine the cornmeal, flour, grated bread crumbs and baking soda in a medium bowl. Add the raisins and sand and mix thoroughly. Then add the bacon drippings and water, stirring well.
- Spoon the dough into muffin tins and bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Cool the muffins to room temperature before serving. Store the leftovers in the refrigerator until it's time for a refill.

ADDICTIVE BRAN MUFFINS W/GOLDEN RAISINS AND BIRD SEED
Steps:
- 350, rack, centre. In med bowl stir bran, ilk, crème fraiche, and eggs til well mixed. Put raisins in small bowl and cover w/hot water and set aside. Let stand 30 mins to allow bran to soak u some liquid and raisins to plump. After 30 mins, add brown sugar and molasses to bran mix and stir until thoroughly combined Drain raisins, add to bran, stir til well mixed. Will be thick and gloppy. In large bowl, stir together flour, b powder, soda and salt. Scrape bran mix into dry ingreds and fold carefully just til well combined. Spoon batter into prepped cups, filling to rim (almost overflowing). In small bowl, mix together millet, flaxseeds and sunflower seeds. Sprinkle over muffins. Bake 35-40 mins, cool in pan on rack 20 mins, then remove from pan.
