2 large ripe avocados, pitted, peeled and mashed
2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped (1 1/2 cups)
2 jalapeño chilies, seeded and finely chopped
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons lime or lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash of pepper
Tortilla chips, if desired

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients except tortilla chips in glass or plastic bowl. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour to blend flavors.
  • Serve with tortilla chips.

Cayenne pepper
Salt

Steps:

  • Place avocado in a bowl and mash with a fork, pastry blender or potato masher.
  • Add the remaining ingredients to the bowl and mix well.

3 oz. (3/4 cup) shredded hot pepper Monterey Jack cheese
3/4 cup purchased bean dip
1/2 cup Old El Paso™ Salsa
1 (8-oz.) container frozen or refrigerated guacamole, thawed
1/4 cup sliced ripe olives

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, combine sour cream, cream cheese and Monterey Jack cheese; mix well. Spread evenly on 10-inch serving plate. Refrigerate 5 to 10 minutes or until slightly set.
  • Carefully spread bean dip over sour cream mixture. Spread salsa over bean dip. Spoon guacamole over salsa. Sprinkle with olives.
  • Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate dip until serving time. Serve with tortilla chips.

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, mix refried beans and salsa. On 12- or 13-inch serving plate or pizza pan, spread bean mixture in thin layer.
  • Spread sour cream over bean mixture, leaving about 1-inch border of beans around edge. Spread guacamole over sour cream, leaving border of sour cream showing.
