1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1/4 cup honey
1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
2 kiwi, peeled, halved and thinly sliced
1 D'anjou or Bartlett pear*, cored and chopped
1 Honeycrisp or Gala apple*, cored and chopped
1 can (15 ounces) mandarin oranges in water, drained and patted dry
1-1/2 cups red grapes, halved
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup pecan halves
1/2 cup pomegranate arils (seeds)

Steps:

  • In large bowl, whisk orange juice, honey and pumpkin pie spice.
  • Add kiwi, pear, apple, oranges, grapes, dried cranberries, pecans and pomegranate arils to bowl and gently toss to combine.
  • Transfer to serving dish and serve immediately.

my take on waldorf salad i ate as a kid every thanksgiving

Number Of Ingredients 11

4 granny smith apples
4 tart red apples (honey crisp are the best)
1 can(s) pineapple chunks or crushed (i prefer chunks)
1/4 pkg green grapes
1/4 pkg red grapes
1 pkg strawberries, fresh
1/2 pkg pecans or walnuts
1/8 pkg marshmallows
1 jar(s) marshmallow cream
1 box cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 pkg small container of whipped topping

Steps:

  • 1. cut fruit into bit sized chunks and marshmallows and in half put into large bowl
  • 2. warm marshmallow cream in microwave for 30 seconds and blend in cream cheese and whipped topping until a mayo like texture
  • 3. mix together store in the fridge until ready to serve
