1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1 small onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon chili powder
16 chicken wings (about 3 pounds)

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine the first eight ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes or until thickened. , Meanwhile, cut chicken wings into three sections; discard wing tips. Place wings in a well-greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. , Bake at 375° for 30 minutes, turning once. Brush with sauce. Bake 20-25 minutes longer, turning and basting once, or until chicken juices run clear. Serve with additional sauce if desired.

1 (1 1/4 ounce) package ortega taco seasoning mix (Or whichever brand you prefer.)
1 lb chicken wings (about 12)
ortega thick & chunky salsa (Or whichever brand you prefer.)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F
  • Place taco seasoning mix in a large resealable plastic food-storage bag.
  • Add chicken wings, a few at a time; shake well to coat.
  • Repeat until all wings have been coated.
  • Place wings on lightly greased baking pan.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until no longer pink near bone.
  • Serve with salsa for dipping.

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 1/4 cups ketchup
3 tablespoons chile oil
2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
3 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
1/2 cup egg whites
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
10 chicken wings, rinsed and patted dry
1 cup cornstarch
Oil, for frying

Steps:

  • For the sauce: Heat a wok over medium high heat. Add ketchup, chile oil, garlic, vegetable oil and sesame oil. Heat to boiling. Add sugar. Continue boiling and stirring until sugar is incorporated. Add green onions, then stir and remove from heat. Set aside in a container.
  • For the jade red wings: Beat egg whites in a bowl to frothy stage only. Add garlic salt and black pepper. Marinate wings in egg whites for 5 minutes.
  • Dredge in cornstarch, shaking off excess.
  • Heat oil to 350 degrees F in a deep-fryer.
  • Deep-fry wings until golden brown and crispy, about 7 minutes. Drain.
  • Heat wok. Add sauce and heat until bubbling throughout. Add wings. Toss.
