While the title says dog treats, these treats can also double as a cake decoration or just human treats. I always have to fight off my younger siblings while making them or else there would be no dough left!

Number Of Ingredients 4

aluminum foil
2 medium (7" to 7-7/8" long)s ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup all-purpose flour, or more if needed

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Place mashed bananas in a bowl. Add peanut butter and flour and mix until thoroughly combined. If dough feels too sticky to handle, mix in more flour; do not exceed 2 tablespoons.
  • Scoop a small amount of dough and place onto a lightly floured surface. Roll dough to an even thickness of your preference, rotating after each roll and adding flour as needed to avoid sticking. Dust cookie cutters lightly in flour. Cut dough into desired shapes and transfer to the prepared cookie sheet. Roll and cut remaining dough.
  • Bake in batches in the preheated oven until golden brown and firm, 15 to 20 minutes. Cool on the baking sheet for 1 minute before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

PEANUT BUTTER AND BANANA PUPCAKES (DOG TREATS)

Peanut Butter and Banana Pupcakes (Dog Treats) image

I adapted this recipe from "the poop pantry" http://www.thepoop.com/pooppantry/bananapupcakes.asp We took out the flour (because they say dogs are not supposed to eat wheat), and also removed the vanilla extract (she can't taste the difference so why add un-natural ingredients). I added peanut butter for extra flavor and protein. I usually halve the recipe so that it fills one mini muffin tin pan. You can freeze extras so you always have yummy treats ready!

BANANA AND PEANUT BUTTER DOG TREATS

Banana and Peanut Butter Dog Treats image

My dog just loves these. When I have some bananas left, I can divide them in half and freeze them. I only make a half batch at once since he is small, but if your dog is bigger or if you like to give many treats to your pet, make a whole batch. You could even freeze some after making them if properly stored in a freezer bag or container.

Categories     For Pets

Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 - egg
1/3 cup(s) peanut butter, smooth, lower sugar or natural is better
1/2 cup(s) mashed banana (about 1 banana)
1 tablespoon(s) honey
1 cup(s) whole wheat flour
1/2 cup(s) wheat germ
1 - egg white, lightly beaten for brushing

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 300° F. Lightly spray a baking sheet.
  • 2. Stir together the egg, peanut butter, banana, and honey in a medium bowl to blend thoroughly. Slowly stir in the flour and wheat germ; mix well. Place a piece of wax paper onto board or counter top and flour. Turn dough out onto the floured paper and place another sprinkle of flour and top with another piece of wax paper. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick and remove top layer of wax paper. Cut into desired shapes with a cookie cutter, place on prepared baking sheet, and brush tops with egg white if desired.
  • 3. Bake biscuits in preheated oven until dried and golden brown, about 20-25 minutes, depending on size. I would closely watch these after 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
  • 4. No wheat germ??? Try using quick oats instead. Roughly grind it in a food grinder or coffee grinder for the right consistency, or you can use as is. Works just the same.

PEANUT BUTTER AND BANANA FROZEN DOG TREAT

Peanut Butter and Banana Frozen Dog Treat image

Found on Pintrest: The process for these peanut butter and banana frozen dog treats was simple! Mash up the bananas, then mix in the remaining ingredients. Microwaving the peanut butter for about 15 seconds helped make it easier to get out of the measuring cup and mixed together. Cook time is freeze time, serving size depends on the cups you put them in so it's a guess

BANANA OAT DOG TREAT COOKIES RECIPE - (4.2/5)

Banana Oat Dog Treat Cookies Recipe - (4.2/5) image

Provided by judet

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 - 3 large ripened bananas, mashed
2 cups quick cooking oats
1 teaspoon ginger, optional
1 teaspoon, cinnamon, optional
1 tablespoon chia, flax or sesame seeds, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 180° C (350° F) and line a cookie tray with parchment paper. In a medium size bowl, mix the bananas and cooking oats together. *Since the size of bananas varies, you may need to add a little extra oatmeal to get a consistency where your cookie dough will hold together. If using optional seeds and spices, add to the mixture and mix through thoroughly. Drop small teaspoon size portions onto the cookie tray. You can either leave portions as they drop onto the cookie tray or flatten them slightly with your fingers, to make small round cookies (I made some of each). Bake for 15 - 20 minutes (Ovens vary). Remove tray from oven and allow cookies to rest on the tray for 5 - 10 minutes. Place cookies to wire cooling rack to cool completely. When cooled, store in a zip lock bag or an air-tight container. They will last longer if stored in refrigerator.

BANANA AND CAROB RUFFLES DOG TREAT

Banana and Carob Ruffles Dog Treat image

When Three Dog Bakery opened in Lee's Summit, MO, last year, it became the 47th location - a dream that seemed impossible 31 years ago, when the original Kansas City shop was the only canine bakery in the country. Far ahead of the trend, founders Mark Beckloff and Dan Dye started making dog food to help their rescue mutt, Gracie, who had stomach sensitivities. These doggie truffles are a longtime favorite.

Provided by Food Network

Time 2h

Yield About 60 dog treats

Number Of Ingredients 11

Cooking spray
2 cups water
1 cup diced bananas, plus 1/4 cup mashed bananas (from 1 to 2 bananas)
1 tablespoon plus 1/8 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 large egg
2 tablespoons honey
3 cups whole-wheat flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
36 ounces fat-free cream cheese
3 tablespoons carob powder, plus more for rolling
Chopped unsalted peanuts or unsweetened shredded coconut, for rolling

Steps:

  • Make the cake base: Preheat the oven to 350˚. Coat a nonstick 8-inch round cake pan with cooking spray. Combine the water, diced and mashed bananas, 1/8 teaspoon vanilla, the egg and honey in a large bowl and whisk well. Whisk the whole-wheat flour with the baking powder in a separate bowl. Add to the banana mixture and mix well. Spread in the prepared pan.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out dry, 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes. Invert the cake onto a rack; let cool completely.
  • Roughly break up the cooled cake and transfer to a food processor. Process into coarse crumbs.
  • Make the frosting: Combine the cream cheese, carob powder and remaining 1 tablespoon vanilla in a large bowl. Beat with a mixer on medium-high speed until smooth, 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add the carob frosting to the crumb mixture and mix with a rubber spatula. Scoop into balls with a small dough scoop. Roll in carob powder, chopped peanuts or coconut. Refrigerate until ready to serve, or up to 5 days.
