BABY BLUE PUNCH

Baby Blue Punch image

I created this punch recipe when I went looking for a punch recipe for my Baby Shower. I really wanted blue punch because I was having a boy this time. The ice cream melts somewhat and turns the punch a beautiful baby blue color leaving frothy blue and white clouds floating on top. Everyone thought it tasted great and asked for the recipe. Its also very adaptable to your taste. The sky's the limit. Try any flavor or color of unsweetened drink mix in place of the blue.

1 (0.13 ounce) package blue, berry flavored unsweetened drink mix
1 (2 liter) bottle lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
1 (64 fluid ounce) bottle white cranberry juice
8 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 cup white sugar, or to taste

Steps:

  • In a large punch bowl, stir together the drink mix, lemon-lime soda, and white cranberry juice. Taste, and stir in sugar to your liking. (I like to add the whole cup.) Float scoops of ice cream on the top. The ice cream melts somewhat and turns the punch a beautiful baby blue color with frothy white clouds floating on the top.

BLUE BABY SHOWER PUNCH

Blue Baby Shower Punch image

Posted in response to a request for pastel blue punch on the boards a long while back, I figured I should probably go ahead and post this one officially so the recipe wouldn't get lost. Pink punch is easy enough to make, for little girls, but blue is a bit more elusive. :)

Time 10m

Yield 1 batch, 16-18 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (1/4 ounce) package unsweetened Kool-Aid powdered drink mix, powder (amount in package varies on the type used, could be anywhere between .15 to .25 ounce)
3/4 sugar
water, according to Kool-Aid directions
1 (10 ounce) can frozen Pina Colada mix (thawed)
1 (2 liter) bottle 7-Up soda (to taste) or 1 (2 liter) bottle Sprite (to taste)
1 pint vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • Mix together the Kool-aid, water, and sugar according to the package directions.
  • In a punchbowl, combine the prepared Kool-aid, thawed Pina Colada mix, and 7-Up or Sprite.
  • Add scoops of vanilla ice cream.
  • Serve and enjoy!
  • Note #1: the Kool-aid company changes it's flavors and colors all the time, so you'll need to investigate what is available when you're making your punch; past flavors/color combinations that worked were Berry Blue and Raspberry Reaction.
  • Note #2: if you make up some ahead of time, you can also freeze a ring of prepared Kool-aid and put it in the punch bowl, or make ice cubes with it and add them into the punch.
  • Note #3: folks have asked me what the Pina Colada mix is for, so I thought I should add it to the recipe. :) It's to make the punch a pastel color, rather than bright blue. It's up to you whether or not you use it, but I think it's tasty!

FROTHY BLUE PUNCH (BABY SHOWER/YOUNG BOY'S PARTY)

Frothy Blue Punch (Baby Shower/Young Boy's Party) image

I created this punch recipe by combining ideas from lots of others--the 'blue' ingredient that most of the other recipes on this site call for are actually not available here, so I had to find some substitutes! You may need to play with the ratios a bit to get that perfect color.

Time 10m

Yield 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 liter pineapple juice, chilled
300 ml ginger ale, chilled
500 ml ice cream soda
1/2 liter Sprite
1 -3 tablespoon blue curacao (non-alcoholic, unless you prefer otherwise!)
1 pint vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • Don't mix this up until just before you're ready to serve; otherwise, the bubbles will all go flat!
  • Combine the first 4 ingredients (juice and 3 bubbly liquids).
  • Add the Blue Curaco by the spoonful--stirring between each spoonful to test the color.
  • Place small scoops of vanilla ice cream on the top of the punch.
  • Quickly dunk the ice cream below the surface, causing it to foam--you should see a lovely pale blue color!

EASY BLUE PUNCH

Easy Blue Punch image

I was looking for a blue punch for my son's birthday party, and couldn't find one that I liked. So I made this one up--it couldn't be any easier, and every one liked it. I used the apple juice ice cubes because I had them on hand, but I'm sure you could freeze some of the punch and use that instead.
