Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/4 cup sliced almonds
5 to 6 ounces baby arugula
2 oranges, peeled and sliced into thin rounds
2 ounces goat cheese, crumbled (about 1/2 cup)
1/4 cup thinly sliced and roughly chopped radishes
Pinch of ground cinnamon, to sprinkle on top
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons honey
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • First, toast the almonds: In a small skillet over medium heat, warm the almonds until they are fragrant and starting to turn golden on the edges, stirring frequently (careful, they'll burn!), about 5 minutes. Transfer them to a bowl to cool.
  • Place the arugula on a large serving platter or into a large serving bowl. Arrange the oranges, toasted almonds, goat cheese and radishes on top. Sprinkle the top lightly with a pinch or two of cinnamon. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, honey and salt. Whisk together until blended. Taste, and add a little more honey if it's unpleasantly tart.
  • Once you're ready to serve, drizzle the dressing lightly over the salad (you might have a little extra), toss, and serve immediately.

CURRY VINAIGRETTE

Curry Vinaigrette image

This dressing is great for Asian-inspired salads and has a bit of kick from the jalapeƱos. If your curry powder or paste has heat, consider that in the total heat output. Or input, as the case may be. ;) I roasted my jalapeƱo and removed everything *too* hot from it and the dressing came out really nice. Recipe courtesy of The Curry Book by Nancy McDermott.

Arugula Red Onion and Orange Salad with Orange Curry Vinaigrette is a refreshing and nutritious salad that is perfect for any season. The sweetness of the oranges balances the bitter taste of arugula while the red onions add a tangy crunch. The orange curry vinaigrette enhances the flavor and makes this salad perfect for lunch or dinner. Here are some valuable tips to make the perfect arugula red onion and orange salad with orange curry vinaigrette recipe. Choose high-quality ingredients The first tip for making the best salad is to select high-quality ingredients. The freshness of the ingredients will affect the taste and texture of the final dish. Choose ripe oranges that are sweet and juicy. Also, pick fresh arugula that is washed and dried. The red onions should be thinly sliced and soaked in cold water for at least 10 minutes to remove any harsh taste. For the orange curry vinaigrette recipe, select fresh curry powder, excellent quality olive oil, and white wine vinegar. Slice the ingredients properly The way you slice the ingredients in this salad matters. Use a sharp knife to slice the oranges and red onions thinly. The slices should be of equal size and thickness to ensure they blend well. The arugula should be coarsely chopped or torn into bite-size pieces. The salad will look more appetizing if the ingredients are sliced neatly. Mix the Orange Curry Vinaigrette properly The Orange Curry Vinaigrette is the heart of this salad, and the taste of the dish depends on how it is made. The vinaigrette is made with curry powder, white wine vinegar, orange juice, honey, and olive oil. Use a whisk or a blender to mix the ingredients to obtain a smooth texture. The curry powder should be mixed well with the other ingredients to balance out the strong taste of the vinegar. The honey adds sweetness to the dressing, while the orange juice gives it a fresh, citrusy taste. Olive oil binds the ingredients together and gives it a smooth consistency. Choose the right type of cheese Arugula Red Onion and Orange Salad with Orange Curry Vinaigrette recipes tastes excellent with a crumbled feta cheese. However, it is essential to choose the right type of feta cheese to complement the dish's flavors. Choose a creamy, tangy feta cheese that is not overly salty. The cheese should be crumbled into small pieces and mixed with the salad after the other ingredients have been added. Let the salad rest After adding all the ingredients and the vinaigrette, the salad needs to rest for 10-15 minutes. This helps the arugula wilt a bit and blend well with the other ingredients' flavors. The vinaigrette also enriches the taste of the salad by seeping into the arugula leaves. The salad should be served immediately after letting it rest. Personalize the recipe The recipe for arugula red onion and orange salad with orange curry vinaigrette is versatile, and you can add or remove ingredients to suit your taste. For instance, you can add toasted almonds or walnuts for an extra crunch. You can also add grilled or roasted chicken for a more substantial salad. To make it vegan or vegetarian, omit the feta cheese and use a vegan alternative. You can also substitute arugula with spinach or any other leafy green that you prefer. In conclusion, Arugula Red Onion and Orange Salad with Orange Curry Vinaigrette is a delicious and healthy salad that can be enjoyed all year round. The quality of the ingredients, slicing technique, proper mixing of the vinaigrette, the right type of cheese, and resting time all contribute to making a perfect salad. With these valuable tips, you can make your own arugula red onion and orange salad with orange curry vinaigrette recipe that is appetizing and healthy.
