FLAT BREAD WITH GOAT CHEESE, ARUGULA, AND BALSAMIC GLAZE

Flat Bread With Goat Cheese, Arugula, and Balsamic Glaze image

This appetizer was inspired by a lunch I had with Gone Fishin at The Spa at Lake Austin. The flat bread I used was Croccantini, large, thin crackers I found at Whole Foods. We served this one night for appetizers to good friends while sipping wonderful wine!

ARUGULA SALAD WITH PEACHES, GOAT CHEESE AND BASIL

Arugula Salad With Peaches, Goat Cheese and Basil image

This simple, quintessential summer salad is a reminder that seasonal ingredients at their very best don't need much fussing (or much cooking at all, in this case). Here, peppery arugula and earthy goat cheese get brightened with juicy summer peaches, but the recipe can be tweaked to suit all seasons: If you can't find ripe peaches, you can use cherries, strawberries, plums, raspberries or even cherry tomatoes in their place.

Time 10m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/4 cup pine nuts
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons champagne vinegar or white wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 to 5 ounces baby arugula
2 ripe peaches, pitted and cut into 1/4-inch slices (about 10 ounces)
1/2 cup julienned fresh basil leaves
2 ounces creamy goat cheese, crumbled (about ½ cup), plus more to taste

Steps:

  • In a small sauté pan, toast the pine nuts over medium heat, tossing often, until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat.
  • In a small liquid measuring cup or bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.
  • Place the arugula in a large salad bowl. Pour just enough dressing over the greens to moisten, and toss to coat. Add the peaches, basil, goat cheese and toasted pine nuts and toss to coat. Add more goat cheese and dressing if desired. Toss gently and serve immediately.

Valuable Tips When Making Arugula Peach and Goat Cheese Flatbread Recipe by Tasty Recipes

Arugula peach and goat cheese flatbread recipe by Tasty Recipes is a mouthwatering combination of flavors that will leave your taste buds tingling. The recipe is easy to follow, and the end result is a delicious treat that can be enjoyed by anyone. However, to ensure that your arugula peach and goat cheese flatbread comes out perfect, there are some valuable tips you need to keep in mind. In this article, we will discuss some tips that will help you achieve the perfect arugula peach and goat cheese flatbread.

Tip 1: Prepare Your Ingredients

The first step to making a perfect arugula peach and goat cheese flatbread is to ensure that you have all your ingredients ready. This includes your flatbread dough, arugula, peaches, goat cheese, garlic, olive oil, and salt. Make sure that all your ingredients are fresh, and you have enough of each ingredient to make the flatbread. Take the time to read the recipe carefully and ensure that you understand all the measurements and instructions before you begin.

Tip 2: Use a High-Quality Goat Cheese

One of the key ingredients in arugula peach and goat cheese flatbread is the goat cheese. It is essential to choose a high-quality goat cheese for the best flavor. When shopping for goat cheese, look for cheese that is fresh and creamy. The cheese should also have a tangy flavor and a smooth texture. Avoid using goat cheese that is too dry or has a strong odor.

Tip 3: Roll Out Your Dough Thinly

To achieve a crispy crust, it is important to roll out your dough thinly. If the dough is too thick, it will be difficult to achieve a crispy crust, and the toppings may not cook through properly. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. If you are using pre-made flatbread dough, follow the package instructions for rolling out the dough.

Tip 4: Preheat Your Oven

Before you put your flatbread in the oven, make sure your oven is preheated to at least 425°F. Preheating your oven ensures that your flatbread will cook evenly and develop a crispy crust. If your oven is not preheated, it will take longer for the flatbread to cook, and you may end up with a soggy crust.

Tip 5: Use Fresh Arugula and Peaches

Fresh arugula and peaches are essential for making a delicious arugula peach and goat cheese flatbread. The arugula should be bright green and crisp, while the peaches should be ripe and juicy. Avoid using wilted or overripe arugula and peaches, as they will not taste as good and may even cause your flatbread to be soggy.

Tip 6: Use Garlic and Olive Oil for Flavor

Garlic and olive oil are two essential ingredients that add flavor to your flatbread. For the best flavor, use fresh garlic and high-quality olive oil. Press or finely chop the garlic before using it, and evenly spread it on the flatbread dough. Use a brush to evenly distribute the olive oil on top of the garlic.

Tip 7: Cook the Flatbread Until Golden Brown

To achieve a perfectly cooked flatbread, you need to cook it until it is golden brown. The exact cooking time will depend on your oven and the thickness of the dough. Generally, the flatbread should be cooked for about 10-12 minutes. Keep an eye on the flatbread while it is cooking and remove it from the oven when it is golden brown and the toppings are cooked through.

Conclusion

Making a perfect arugula peach and goat cheese flatbread is easy if you follow these tips. Remember to prepare all your ingredients, use high-quality goat cheese, roll out the dough thinly, preheat your oven, use fresh arugula and peaches, use garlic and olive oil for flavor, and cook the flatbread until it is golden brown. By following these tips, you can create a mouthwatering flatbread that can be enjoyed by everyone.
