Tip 1: Choose the Right Cut of Pork

The first step in making Apricot Dijon Pork Chops is to choose the right cut of pork. You'll want to go with a bone-in pork chop that is about an inch thick. This will ensure that your pork chops will cook evenly and remain juicy. When shopping for pork chops, look for meat that is marbled with fat. This will add flavor and help keep the meat tender while it cooks.

Tip 2: Season the Pork Chops

Before cooking your pork chops, it's important to season them well. A simple mixture of salt, pepper, and garlic powder will do the trick. Rub the seasoning mixture generously on both sides of the pork chops, making sure to coat the meat evenly. This will help bring out the natural flavor of the pork and also enhance the flavors of the apricot and Dijon mustard sauce.

Tip 3: Prepare the Apricot Dijon Sauce

The key to making delicious Apricot Dijon Pork Chops is in the sauce. To make the sauce, you'll need apricot preserves, Dijon mustard, chicken broth, and a few other flavor enhancers like garlic, onion powder, and thyme. Combine all of the ingredients in a small saucepan and cook over low heat for about 5-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure that the sauce is well blended and heated through.

Tip 4: Pan Fry the Pork Chops

To cook the pork chops, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of oil to the pan and swirl it around to coat the bottom. Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking the pork chops for an additional 5-7 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F.

Tip 5: Serve and Enjoy

Once the pork chops are cooked, it's time to serve and enjoy! Place the pork chops on a plate and spoon the Apricot Dijon Sauce over the top.
