Valuable Tips when Making Apricot Dijon Mustard Chicken with Couscous Recipes

Cooking can be a lot of fun, but it can also be challenging at times. If you are someone who loves to experiment with different ingredients and flavors, then you will surely enjoy creating this Apricot Dijon Mustard Chicken with Couscous recipe. This dish is not only delicious, but it is also quite easy to make, making it perfect for busy individuals who don’t have a lot of time on their hands.

Tip 1: Marinate the chicken

One of the keys to making a flavorful and juicy chicken is to marinate it for at least 30 minutes before cooking it. In this recipe, we use a combination of Dijon mustard, apricot preserves, and a few other ingredients to create a sweet and tangy marinade. To marinate the chicken, simply place the chicken breasts in a plastic bag or an airtight container and pour the marinade over them. Make sure to massage the marinade into the chicken so that it is evenly coated, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours.

Tip 2: Use boneless chicken breasts

Boneless chicken breasts are a great choice for this recipe because they cook quickly and evenly. If you prefer to use bone-in chicken breasts, just keep in mind that the cooking time may be longer. Also, bone-in chicken breasts tend to be thicker, so you may need to adjust the cooking time accordingly.

Tip 3: Preheat the oven

When cooking chicken in the oven, it is important to preheat the oven beforehand. This will ensure that the chicken cooks evenly and that it is cooked through completely. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and let it heat up for at least 10 minutes before placing the chicken in the oven.

Tip 4: Cook the couscous separately

Couscous is a great side dish for this recipe because it is quick and easy to make. However, it is important to cook the couscous separately from the chicken. To make the couscous, simply boil it in water or broth for about 5-7 minutes, then fluff it with a fork. You can also add a few herbs and spices to the couscous to give it some extra flavor.

Tip 5: Baste the chicken with the marinade

To keep the chicken moist and flavorful, it is important to baste it with the marinade while it is cooking. About halfway through the cooking time, use a basting brush or spoon to brush the chicken with some of the leftover marinade. This will help to infuse the chicken with even more flavor and make it more tender and juicy.

Tip 6: Let the chicken rest before slicing

After the chicken is cooked, it is important to let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making it juicier and more flavorful. Simply cover the chicken with foil and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing it.

Tip 7: Garnish with fresh herbs

Garnishing with fresh herbs is a great way to add some extra flavor and color to this dish. Some great options to consider include parsley, cilantro, or chives. Simply chop up the herbs and sprinkle them over the chicken and couscous before serving.

In Conclusion

Making an Apricot Dijon Mustard Chicken with Couscous recipe is a great way to get creative in the kitchen and create a delicious and satisfying meal. By following these valuable tips, you can ensure that the chicken is juicy and flavorful, and that the couscous is perfectly cooked. So why not give this recipe a try and see how it turns out?
