Apricot cream cheese drops are a tasty and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. These tiny treats are made up of a blend of apricots and cream cheese, making them rich and flavorful. If you are looking to make these delectable treats, then this article is for you. Here are some valuable tips that will help you make the perfect apricot cream cheese drops.

Tip 1: Choose the Perfect Apricots

The key to making the perfect apricot cream cheese drops is to choose the right apricots. Look for ripe and juicy apricots that are soft and plump. Avoid apricots that are too hard or too soft as they may not have the right texture and flavor. Fresh apricots are the best, but you can also use canned or dried apricots. If using canned apricots, be sure to drain them well and pat them dry with a paper towel to prevent excess moisture.

Tip 2: Soften the Cream Cheese

For a smooth and creamy consistency, it is important to soften the cream cheese before mixing it with the apricots. You can either leave the cream cheese at room temperature for a few hours before making the drops, or you can microwave it for a few seconds to soften it. The softened cream cheese will blend better with the apricots, resulting in a smooth texture for the drops.

Tip 3: Use a Food Processor

To make the perfect apricot cream cheese drops, it is best to use a food processor. A food processor will ensure that the apricots and cream cheese are blended well, resulting in a smooth and creamy consistency. If you do not have a food processor, you can also use a blender or a hand mixer. However, be sure to pulse the mixture in short bursts to prevent over-mixing.

Tip 4: Add Sugar to Taste

Apricots are naturally sweet, but adding sugar can enhance their flavor and sweetness. Add sugar to taste after blending the apricots and cream cheese. Start with a small amount and gradually add more until you achieve the desired level of sweetness. You can also add other sweeteners such as honey or maple syrup if you prefer.

Tip 5: Chill the Mixture

After blending the apricots and cream cheese, it is important to chill the mixture before forming the drops. Chilling the mixture will make it easier to shape and will also prevent the drops from melting. Place the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before forming the drops.

Tip 6: Use a Cookie Scoop

To make the perfect apricot cream cheese drops, it is best to use a cookie scoop. A cookie scoop will help you form consistent sized drops that are the perfect shape. You can also use a spoon, but the drops may be less uniform in shape and size. Be sure to scrape the cookie scoop or spoon against the side of the bowl to remove any excess mixture.

Tip 7: Roll in Toppings

For added flavor and texture, you can roll the apricot cream cheese drops in toppings such as chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or cocoa powder. Roll the drops in the toppings immediately after forming them to ensure that they stick. You can also omit the toppings if you prefer.

Tip 8: Store in an Airtight Container

Apricot cream cheese drops can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week in an airtight container. Before storing them, be sure to line the container with parchment paper to prevent the drops from sticking. You can also freeze the drops for up to a month if needed. Thaw them in the refrigerator before serving.

Conclusion

Apricot cream cheese drops are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion.
