MAPLE BLONDIE (APPLEBEE'S INSPIRED)

Maple Blondie (Applebee's Inspired) image

I was sort of let down by the Applebees copycat recipes for their Maple Butter Blondie. Applebees' blondie is nothing like a traditional blondie and is more cake-like and even sometimes dry (all the better for the ice cream and maple sauce). The blondie recipes I found online were always butter-laden with fudgy textures, which I don't care for. So I made this recipe. Second: most of the maple sauces are brown sugar recipes, but Applebees' sauce is white. So I used cream, white chocolate chips and white sugar to keep that coloring. Unfortunately, the maple extract has caramel color, so it darkened the sauce a little bit, but it was still good in my opinion. I hope you like it.

Yield 12 squares, 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 16

12 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup cream
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/8-1/4 teaspoon maple extract

  • To Assemble.
  • Cut brownies and top with ice cream, then top with sauce and sprinkle with more nuts.
  • Tightly cover left-over brownies.

Applebee's has always been the go-to place for casual dining and tasty treats. One of their most popular and mouth-watering dishes is the Applebee's Blondie with Maple Butter Sauce, which is an explosion of flavors in every bite.

About the Applebee's Blondie:

The Applebee's Blondie with Maple Butter Sauce is a dessert that combines the goodness of a brownie with the indulgence of a cheesecake. It is a moist and chewy blondie, which is essentially a blonde-colored brownie due to the absence of cocoa powder, topped with a thick layer of cream cheese icing, drizzled generously with maple butter sauce, and sprinkled with chopped walnuts. The flavor and texture combination is truly irresistible, making it one of Applebee's most popular desserts.

The Blondie:

The blondie itself is the star of the dish. It is made with flour, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, butter, and chocolate chips. The brown sugar adds a lovely caramel flavor, and the chocolate chips melt in your mouth, making it a perfect dessert for chocolate lovers. The texture of the blondie is soft, chewy, and a little crumbly, giving you a nice crispy crunch while biting into it.

The Cream Cheese Icing:

The cream cheese icing is what gives the Applebee's Blondie with Maple Butter Sauce its signature flavor. It's creamy, tangy, and perfectly sweet. It's made with cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and butter. The cream cheese adds the tanginess, while the powdered sugar and butter add the necessary sweetness and creaminess to the icing. The texture of the icing is smooth and velvety, which complements the chewiness of the blondie perfectly.

The Maple Butter Sauce:

The Maple Butter Sauce is where the magic happens. It's an indulgent and delicious sauce that is made with butter, maple syrup, and brown sugar. The butter adds richness and creaminess, while the maple syrup and brown sugar add sweetness and a lovely caramel flavor. The sauce is thick and syrupy, which makes it perfect for drizzling over the blondie.

Chopped Walnuts:

The chopped walnuts are the perfect finishing touch to the dish. They add crunchiness and a slightly nutty flavor that balances out the sweetness of the dish. They are sprinkled generously over the maple butter sauce, giving the dish a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing look.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the Applebee's Blondie with Maple Butter Sauce is a dessert that should not be missed. The combination of soft, chewy blondie, velvety cream cheese icing, indulgent maple butter sauce, and crunchy walnuts is a taste sensation that will leave you wanting more. It's the perfect dessert for chocolate lovers or anyone with a sweet tooth. So, next time you're at Applebee's, make sure to indulge in this sumptuous dessert.
If you're a fan of the famous Applebee's Blondie with Maple Butter Sauce, you might be wondering how you can make it at home. This delicious dessert is made with a brownie-like blondie, topped with vanilla ice cream, and drizzled with a creamy maple butter sauce. It's the perfect dessert for any occasion, from a fancy dinner party to a cozy night in. However, making this dessert at home can be a bit challenging, especially if you're not experienced in baking. In this article, we'll provide you with valuable tips on how to make the best Applebee's Blondie with Maple Butter Sauce recipes that you and your guests will love.

The Blondie

The first step in making the Applebee's Blondie with Maple Butter Sauce is to make the blondie itself. The blondie is like a dense, chewy brownie that's flavored with brown sugar and butter. Here are some valuable tips to keep in mind when making this part of the recipe:
Use High-Quality Ingredients
The quality of your ingredients will play a significant role in the final taste and texture of your blondies. Use high-quality butter, eggs, and flour to ensure your blondies have a rich flavor and the perfect texture.
Don't Overmix the Batter
When mixing the batter for your blondies, be careful not to overdo it. Overmixing can cause the batter to become tough and lead to dry and crumbly blondies. Mix the batter just enough to combine the ingredients, and stop as soon as they're fully incorporated.
Use a Stick-Proof Baking Pan
To ensure your blondies bake evenly and release from the pan easily, use a stick-proof baking pan. You can also line your baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

The Maple Butter Sauce

The maple butter sauce is what sets the Applebee's Blondie apart from other desserts. This sweet, creamy sauce is made with butter, maple syrup, and heavy cream, and it's the perfect complement to the chewy blondie and vanilla ice cream. Here are some valuable tips to make sure your maple butter sauce turns out perfectly:
Start with Room Temperature Ingredients
Before you start making the sauce, make sure your butter and heavy cream are at room temperature. This will help the butter blend smoothly into the sauce and prevent it from separating.
Use Pure Maple Syrup
To get the best flavor in your maple butter sauce, use pure maple syrup, rather than a cheaper, imitation syrup. The real maple syrup will provide a richer, deeper flavor and aroma.
Stir Constantly While Cooking
When making the maple butter sauce, it's important to stir the mixture constantly while it's cooking. This will help prevent the sauce from scorching or separating. Stir until the sauce thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.

Assembly

After you've made the blondies and the maple butter sauce, it's time to assemble the dessert. Here are some valuable tips to help you create the perfect Applebee's Blondie with Maple Butter Sauce:
Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream
To create the classic Applebee's Blondie with Maple Butter Sauce, you'll need to serve it with vanilla ice cream. The combination of the warm blondie, cold ice cream, and creamy sauce is what makes this dessert so irresistible.
Drizzle the Sauce Over the Ice Cream, Not the Blondie
When serving the dessert, drizzle the maple butter sauce over the vanilla ice cream, not the blondie. This will help the sauce blend with the ice cream and create a harmonious flavor profile.
Make Ahead of Time and Reheat to Serve
If you're making this dessert for a party, you can make the blondies ahead of time and freeze them. When it's time to serve, reheat the blondies in the oven, and make the maple butter sauce while they're heating up. This will save you time and allow you to serve the dessert warm and fresh.

Conclusion

Making the Applebee's Blondie with Maple Butter Sauce at home can be a challenging but rewarding experience. By following these valuable tips, you can ensure that your blondies and maple butter sauce turn out delicious and impressive. Serve this dessert at your next dinner party or impress your family with a homemade treat that will leave them asking for more.
