How to Prepare Apple Pie Ice Cream Topping

Making apple pie ice cream topping at home is relatively easy. First, you will need to prepare the apples. Peel, core, and slice 4-5 medium-sized apples. In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Then, add the apples to the pan and sauté them for 5-7 minutes until they are tender. Next, add 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, and a pinch of salt to the pan with the apples. Mix everything together and let it cook for a couple of minutes. Finally, add 1/2 cup of apple juice or cider and let the mixture cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until it thickens. Once the mixture is cooked, let it cool slightly before adding it to your ice cream. Scoop your favorite vanilla ice cream into a bowl, and then add a generous spoonful of the apple mixture on top.
