Time 2h

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups packed light-brown sugar
4 large eggs
6 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced 1/4 inch thick
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Make the cake: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
  • In a large bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, and eggs. Whisk until smooth. Gradually whisk in dry ingredients just until combined (do not overmix). Using a rubber spatula, fold in apples. Cool in pan on rack 15 minutes; invert onto rack to cool completely.

Time 2h30m

Number Of Ingredients 16

3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour (spoon & leveled)
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 and 1/4 cups (300ml) canola or vegetable oil
1/2 cup (120g) plain yogurt or sour cream, at room temperature
1 and 1/4 cups (250g) packed light or dark brown sugar
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
3 large eggs, at room temperature
1 Tablespoon pure vanilla extract (yes, 1 full Tablespoon)
3 cups (360g) peeled and chopped apples, about 2-3 large apples
1 cup (200g) packed light or dark brown sugar
1/4 cup (57g) unsalted butter
1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
1/2 cup (60g) confectioners' sugar, sifted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Spray a 10-12 cup Bundt pan with nonstick spray. Set aside.
  • Whisk the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together in a large bowl until combined. Set aside. In a medium bowl, whisk the oil, yogurt, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla together until combined and creamy. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and slowly whisk until no large lumps remain. Try to avoid over-mixing. Carefully fold in the apple chunks. If you feel 3 large apples is too much, feel free to cut down to 2 apples. I like a lot of apple chunks in my cake!
  • Spoon/pour the thick batter into the prepared bundt pan. Bake for 55-75 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean. The baking times may vary depending on your oven, if you used a 10 cup bundt pan or 12 cup, or if you used less apple chunks. Keep your eye on the cake after 55 minutes. Feel free to cover the cake loosely with aluminum foil about halfway through to prevent heavy browning on top. Allow the cake to cool in the pan set on a wire rack, then invert onto a serving plate once cooled and ready to serve.
  • As the cake cools, prepare the brown sugar glaze. Combine the butter, brown sugar, and heavy cream in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly as the mixture comes to a simmer and then a rapid boil. Once boiling, stop stirring and allow to boil for 1 minute. Turn the heat down to low, give it a quick stir, and let simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat and whisk in the sifted confectioners' sugar. Allow glaze to cool and slightly thicken for at least 10 minutes. Spoon glaze over the cake right before serving. If your glaze thickens up too much before serving the cake, warm in the microwave for 15 seconds and stir until smooth.
  • I like this cake warm, at room temperature, and even cold. Cover leftovers and store at room temperature for 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Flavor is outstanding on day 2!

Valuable Tips when Making Apple Nut Cinnamon Bundt Cake with Brown Sugar Glaze Recipes

If you're looking for a delicious and fragrant dessert to serve your family and friends, then making an apple nut cinnamon bundt cake with brown sugar glaze recipe is a great option. The combination of apples, nuts, and cinnamon creates a comforting and aromatic baked good that will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. But before you start baking, here are some valuable tips to keep in mind:
TIP #1: Proper preparation is key
Before you start making the cake batter, make sure all your ingredients are at room temperature. This helps to ensure that the ingredients will mix together properly and create an evenly baked cake. Additionally, prepare your bundt pan properly. Grease the pan with non-stick spray or butter and then lightly dust it with flour. This will prevent the cake from sticking to the pan and ensure that it is easily removed once baked. Make sure that the pan is evenly coated and that there is no excess flour left over.
TIP #2: Measuring ingredients accurately is crucial
When baking a cake, it's important to measure your ingredients accurately. This will ensure that the cake comes out properly and doesn't end up too dry or dense. Use a kitchen scale to measure out your ingredients by weight, rather than volume. This is because measuring by volume can result in inconsistent measurements due to variances in scooping and packing ingredients. Additionally, when measuring flour, use a spoon to scoop it into the measuring cup and then level it off with a knife. This will ensure that you don't pack in too much flour, which can cause the cake to become dense and dry.
TIP #3: Don't overmix the batter
When making the cake batter, it's important not to overmix it. Overmixing can cause the gluten in the flour to develop too much, resulting in a tough and dense cake. Blend the wet and dry ingredients together until just combined. This will create a light and airy batter that will result in a fluffy cake.
TIP #4: Use high-quality ingredients
When making a cake with a lot of flavor components, like an apple nut cinnamon bundt cake, it's important to use high-quality ingredients. Fresh, ripe apples and high-quality nuts will give the cake a better taste and texture. Additionally, use high-quality cinnamon and spices for maximum flavor. Cheap spices can be weak and bland, whereas high-quality spices will add depth and complexity to the cake.
TIP #5: Bake the cake properly
When baking the cake, make sure to follow the instructions in the recipe carefully. This includes preheating the oven, setting the timer, and checking the cake for doneness. Check the cake for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. If it comes out with batter or crumbs, continue baking the cake for a few more minutes until fully baked.
TIP #6: Let the cake cool completely before glazing
Before you glaze the cake, make sure it has cooled completely. This will prevent the glaze from melting and running off the cake. Additionally, it will help the glaze set properly. Once the cake has cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top of the cake. Use a spoon or spatula to spread the glaze evenly over the surface of the cake. Allow the glaze to set before serving.
TIP #7: Store the cake properly
If you have any leftovers, store the cake in an airtight container. This will prevent the cake from drying out and keep it fresh for longer. Additionally, you can freeze the cake for later consumption. Wrap the cake tightly in plastic wrap and then foil before placing it in the freezer. Thaw the cake in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
Conclusion
Making an apple nut cinnamon bundt cake with brown sugar glaze recipe is a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth and impress your family and friends. By following these valuable tips, you'll be well on your way to creating a delicious and fragrant baked good that everyone will love.
